Last summer I was at a stoplight with the top down. Little girl at the bus stop "Daddy look, it's a bubble car! It's broken Daddy, the bubble car is broken!"

Cool thread

It's pretty cool when you here fellow dudes give you props on your beetle. Through the 10 years of owning Cup, I've often heard in earshot, that my beetle looks hot, or if I ever had a bug, I would do it like that.

And yes, there's been the smattering of slug bug/punch bug shouts with ensuing punches as well as I've driven by friends and couples

Was mowing the lawn a few minutes ago. A couple walked by and although I couldn't hear her I could read her lips....

"Grey one!" POW!!!! "White one!" POW!!!!! I had a good laugh.

I was at a store putting my bags into the trunk and there was a truck parked beside me. This little girl stuck her head out the window and said I love your beetle bug,its so pretty! It was so sweet!

Scott says calls me a "Rock Star" because every time we are out someone says something about my NBC. I hear "look at her plate, You bugging me that's funny". "I love that yellow, it's so lite", "That car looks like so much fun." I love the kids the most, they get so excited.

Of course I do love to see people punching each other as I drive by. I did have one not so nice person that I heard yell "You're bugging me to" and flipped me off. I just tooted and waved. I am just glad she usually bring smiles and sunshine into people's lives.

Ooohhh I love this post... I had a middle aged man (40ish) pull up next to me in a Tiguan Black with tint, debaged, black wheels w/silver lip. He proceeded to roll down his window and wave me to roll my window down and said to me that he LOVED my bug that he always wanted a vw murdered out like mine I have a 99 black 2.0 with tint, ASA black w/silver lip... That made me feel really good and I do get kids that often say things to there parents as I' driving thru a shopping center or something, they say things like "Ooohh Look a punch bug no punch backs" or Ooo look at that cool car...

Now you've got to get a photo thread going of your bug. Cup, my beetle is "murdered out" as well. It's cool hearing of someone else who did the same. Oh yeah, Supercharged98 is murdered out as well! Black on black is the schtuff!

I remember when I had my first NB, Felix a couple of weeks, I was in Chattanooga, TN at my first GTG. I was sitting at a stop light, someone made a comment,and asked me "Where is the motor? I still get asked that question a lot. This past weekend, at the GTG, we were sitting behind our bugs, An older lady came up and stuck her head in the window. She said to the guy she was with, "Hey Bob, this one has a Star Wars ship in it. Obviously it was not Star Wars, but Star Trek, but I got a kick out of it.

I've gotten smiles and waves and punches. Also gotten the "where's the engine" question. No mean comments or weird drivers thus far...cause I engage the turbo when the lousy drivers are in my way.

A few months ago I was waiting in the parking lot while my wife was inside a building, keeping her doctor's appointment. I was sitting in my Beetle, of course.
I noticed an elderly lady approaching (probably after seeing her doctor) along with a middle-aged woman, probably her daughter. I don't think she saw me, but I heard the elder lady say affectionately as she lightly touched the passenger front fender:

Look...it's a Volkswagen. Its little engine is in the back!

I get a lot of comments on my NB. A lot of customers of mine know that I own the Yellow NB and so whenever I change something I tend to get a lot of questions about it. Such as when I recently put my yellow inserts back on my wheels, I had a handful of people ask if my wheels were yellow before but they hadn't noticed. But overall positive comments.

About 6 weeks ago I was somewhere in TN getting gas and a guy pulled up in a truck and when he got out he said ( do you have any idea how much spoucal abuse your responsible for for owning one of those) I just said hey I love my bug and got back in bubbles and laughed. I've also heard hamburger bubble and pu**y car. A lot of ppl hate the beetle but I honestly think its the best car ever made and I've never ever wanted any other car but it and I don't think I ever will.

Oh the things people have said about Evilina.....

Well here are the 2 latest....

Evilina and I were in a MINOR fender bender about a month ago. As the lady (the other vehicle owner) and I were exchanging insurance info, she told her daughter to come out of the car and to take pics. When the daughter (who was probably 14ish?) came bouncing out of the car with her iphone, she squeeled with joy and said "OH MY GOD!! I LOVE YOUR CAR!!!" Definitely a nice comment, right time to say it...eh not so much .... She then didn't take ANY pics but of one with Evilina. OH VEY!

Second, this was JUST the other day, was at a McD's with my Bestie and a busload of tourist Brazillian kids came pouring out oohing and Aaaahing over Evilina. Pictures were taken and then as we were getting in, some comments in spanish and then a few in english saying BAD WHIP.

Over the years and since her latest updates to exterior and interior, I don't think a day goes by when I drive her that someone doesn't comment about her.

When we were moving from Las Vegas to Orlando, Evilina was on a trailer behind the moving truck and I kid you not, EVERY gas station we stopped at, atleast 1 person asked to take a cell phone pic of her.

As we were leaving the Tail of the Dragon, VDubYa, MrChaotica and I were gasing up at the bottom of the hill where the Ridge Top was and we were approached by some lady that runs a "pink" pirate facebook or something. She ooohed and aahhed Evilina and then asked to take pictures of me and Evilina.

Boo & I get all kinds of looks,I live across from a school and 3 girls seen me pull out of my apartment complex i could see them punching each other and all 3 YELLED SLUGBUG! Had some teens in a rattle canned Civic come up and asked me if i wanted to race....Well yeah Turbo Beetle 1 Civic 0 LOL
My fav was last August at the Scorpions concert i had parked 4 guys walked by slugging each other and bein goofy.We ended all up in the same line and 1 guy said ..HEY its the Bug owner..He said your car promotes violence LOL Anyways love this thread and i love my Boo

Funniest times at VW Shows with my Bug were sitting within earshot of the Bug
and hearing peoples comments on the interior. Most were Great But you
would get the occasional " Oh my, how crap is that interior "

Funniest day i had, was at a VW Show and someone said pretty much the same
as i have quoted. Later on in the day, when everyone was leaving i had ended up
in the general car park. Saw the 2 guys who had commented on my Bug getting
into ..



To which i couldn't help myself, and said " You may not like my Orange interior,
but it's a dam site nicer than your car " Both their faces turned red in seconds

Yesterday, went shopping with my GF, parked the car with the top down in front of the store... after getting what we needed the lady at the register was commenting to another employee:

"That's the most cutest car I've ever seen..."

I join in:

"Yea, that orange bug? I love it too!!"

My GF laughing jumps into the conversation:

"Don't listen to him... IT'S HIS CAR!"
