So, I am now in Wisconsin and so is all my stuff but one thing is missing....
Fiona ![]() The transport company has totally failed, they said they moved offices and the phones are all messed up so I can't get ahold of anybody. I had emailed them and called on Friday but got no response. I gave them my grandma's phone numbers in case they were picking her up Monday while I was flying. They called her cell phone on Saturday morning and left a message saying that my number was no longer in use (which it is working). The message also said that my credit card was denied for the deposit, they didn't even try to call the house phone. I finally got in touch with the lady I had been speaking to on Monday while I was going to the airport. I told her it is on my bank statement that the deposit did go through on May 27th. She told me to call the bank and to call her back, so I did and the bank said it went through and was not reversed or anything like that. I called the lady back 6 times, 4 times it was busy, twice it rang and went to the main automated menu. So I called the toll free number and left a message, I also emailed them, my grandma called and left 3 messages and I have yet to receive a response. I don't know what else to do to get a response and Fiona isn't even scheduled to be picked up because of this. What I don't get is why they didn't contact me during the week last week if this was an issue, they waited until 2 days before their final day of the 7 day pickup window they gave me. I had scheduled the first available pickup day for May 31st so I wouldn't inconvenience my grandparents at all with having to be there to release Fiona to the truck driver. UGH!!!!!! ![]() ![]()

You say they are out of IL? Where at? What is the company's name? If I can help in any way, Casey, let me know.

They are out of Wheeling, IL. Less than an hour from my work and you are a little over an hour from my house.
If their phones/fax/internet isn't working, you can't prove you paid. If you need me to drop off paperwork, you could email or fax it to me at work and I could drop it off. ![]() |

Sorry, I think they are bull$hitting you. The whole story sounds like bull$hit. The payment didn't clear, when it did? That's not a mistake you can make. It did or it didn't. Sounds like a Ma & Pa operation and they are trying to buy time. That's not the way you handle a business, or the moving of a business. I would suggest you give them till in the morning, to not just reply, but have a transporter there, or kick them to the curb. And I would demand they have their insurance agent provide you with an "Insurance Cert", issued specifically to you. This is done regularly with Commercial Liability Insurance. I have to do this for customers all the time. Hopefully you paid this with a bank debit card, underwritten by Visa or Mastercard and can recover your deposit. Went back and read it was a credit card, better yet. And your number is disconnected? Yeah right. Beat feet...
I'm sure, between all of us around here we can find you a reputable transporter. MORAV

Joel, that is really nice of you, wow we live close!!!! I will let you know if I need your help, thanks a lot
![]() They are actually a good sized company, which is what I don't understand, they have excellent reviews on transportreviews.com and they have their own carriers which made them more affordable to me. I had to use a major credit/debit card which I used the card linked to my checking account I am a little confused as to what you are trying to say and I can't afford more than what I am supposed to pay them |

I used to have a 32' camping trailer on Lake Koshkonong, wow 9 years ago now. Spent every weekend next to you that summer.
House went to crap though. We definitely need to meet up. Sorry, back on topic. My neighbor just got a Porsche transported from Florida in a covered transport for $800. Don't know what you can pay to have Fiona come out this way, but he was super satisfied. Plus his 911 Carrera 4 Convertible was the cheapest car on the truck. Let me know if you need more info. ![]() |

Ugh this thing is ridiculous. Phone problems are one thing but completely denying that they received your deposit?
If they do finally transport Fiona, I hope they're careful with her! Keep on them Casey!

The reason it is so expensive for me is because it is 2,000+ miles from Cali to here. The company I have been dealing with was gonna do it for $735 in an open carrier. It was the cheapest company I found but what is the info on the company your neighbor used?? I also don't know if I could get my deposit back because of how unreliable they are communication wise. They better be careful with her or someone is in for a beating more than they are now. |

Something sounds very fishy to me. Is the money deducted from your account?

Call your credit card company, that's the one good advantage of paying with plastic. They will simply reverse the charge. The transport company sounds sketchy and if their business office is that bad, I don't know if you want to trust their drivers to take care of your car. I hope you are re-united soon.

Yes, the money has already been deducted from my account, that is my whole point I keep trying to tell them, it was deducted on May 27th.
Thanks everyone, I hope we get re-united soon as well, I miss her ![]() I would reverse the charge, the only thing is that I can't afford to pay more than $800 to have her transported from CA to here, if you guys know of or can help me find a reputable company that will do that please let me know. And I don't NEED her to be in a closed carrier, it is cheaper if they do open carry and most companies have full coverage of the cars they are transporting if anything happens to them. |

No, you mis-understood, I was referring to the Co used by his neighbor to move his neighbor's exotic (Porsche). I wasn't suggesting you use them, he was. I posted a link to a thread with a number of different companies with and without poster's recommendations. And as with shipping anything, prices drop as you can work within their schedule as opposed to them working within yours, but you don't seem to have that option. Moving used cars has become a big business, literally hundreds out there, good and bad. Carmax moves cars constantly, give them a call and ask what they suggest. They might even have space on a truck going your way.

I think Palmeeto Guy moved a TS around the turn of the year. p/m him and ask who he used, and his "as scheduled" experience. But unless you have it hauled on a one, two, or three car trailer, by a "hot shoter", your not likely to find someone who can pick it up today and have it there day after tomorrow. They have to first sell a full load, pick-up in different cities and or states, and then deliver in different cities and or states, working out the logistics that make them the most money. Have you considered a "drive-away" company?
