After a tragic garage fire, we lost two cars. My husbands 2004 Convertible Mustang GT (1 in 68 car, first place winner at Carlisle, PA) and Violet, my Red Rock bug. So all of you Red Rock owners, you now own a car that is 1 in 749. No one was hurt and the garage was detached, so our house is fine, just a lot of emotional damage. We were very attached to these two cars, as you bug owners know. I may post pictures later, if anyone wants to see them. Very disturbing for bug owners... Does anyone know if VW gives out death certificates??? I have her birth certificate. I'll still be on and will post if we get a new bug out of this.

That is so sad to lose both cars! When did this happen?

Oh My God! How horrible!

But, it could have been worse....

I hope your RR can be replaced, maybe 2012?

I won't even begin to imagine the Mustang replacement.

Thank you everyone. We do have a lot to be thankful for, no one was hurt and the garage was detached, so we still have a place to lay our heads tonight to go to sleep. Violet will be missed terribly, as well as the mustang. Her time here was so short lived. I would love to get another new beetle. My husband and I just have to go car shopping, so will see what comes along.

Just some depressing pictures of Violet..... I was able to save her flowers. Just a little dirty and some water damage.

I am so sorry for you and your hubby's loss. Anguish comes to mind.

However, be thankful that you all had a detached garag

Maybe you can find another RR, or even consider a B12.

Glad that you and hubby are okay- that's what's most important.

Thank goodness it was a detached garage. I feel for you with both vehicles as I was a Mustang owner before I purchased Kaylee Bug. Here is hoping your insurance company does right by you.

These pictures nearly made me cry; especially since today is the first year anniversary of having mine..

All I can say is just be glad it was detached... your house is okay and you and your family are okay... cars can always be replaced, no matter how hard it seems... at least you guys are unharmed. I hope something works out with your insurance and you are able to find another beetle just as great.

I don't know what I would do if Marvin looked like that!
That's so sad. Hopefully you can get a nice replacement to help you get over your loss.
