Maybe she's part of the VWoA family? One of the higher ups? The car looks like it already has permanent plates too. Did you see Mike Levy's pics on Facebook of the 10 Beetles on the transport truck?

Car companies will often give some select people versions of their new stuff early, to get input from them before the cars go on sale. My hubby sees a lot of new cars like that when he's in Michigan for work (his company has its headquarters near Detroit). Not super shocked to see one on the road right now.

That said, looks sharp! Can't wait to see one myself

The new Motor Trend has outside and inside views. This is a very slick car. I predict it will be a rousing success.

Doing good. I bought a 2009 WRX back in 2008 and have been using that as my daily driver. The neu beetle is now a back up car. I can't seem to get rid of it! My friends and family have used it more in the past three years than I have. I will pretty much loan it out to anybody, lol.

My old bug is still old. I haven't done anything to it at all. I really want to paint it, but Im going to school to get my MBA so I really don't have time (or money) for stuff like that.

I really wanna do an old school new beetle get together here in detroit though. I see so many every day. There's got to be a demand for some of us to hang out. Maybe I'll start a FB page for a MI NB group.

I dunno...in pictures, the front end reminds me of those silly air-cooled beetles you saw back in the day that had a Rolls Royce-style hood added to the front end, and the back reminds me too much of a PT Cruiser.

Maybe it looks better IRL, but I'd have preferred a new version of this iconic car that was smaller and goes faster, not something bigger and less round that vaguely reminds me of one of the ugliest cars around.

I used to live and michigan and work at a dealership (GM) and have seen tons of different lisence plates and that last pic of the rear shows a specialty plate either a dealer (most of them have a small "D" in the middle some have a "X") Can't quite make it out but it has what looks like 2 small letters, once looks like a "M" could be manufacturer????

EDIT, just now realised that Deserion posted that up and I over looked it, but it proves the point on the plate thing. Real cool, wish I was that lucky to drive one. On youtube, they have Jay Leno driving one in Wolfsburg, Germany. He drives the oldest Beetle in exsistence, a 1938, and then goes to drive the 2012. Not bad of a little review.

If she did, they must not live in Chi-Town. I'm sure by now I would've seen one with all my highway driving I do. I haven't seen a 2012 yet.

I'm pretty sure she did give some away... but they wouldn't get them til closer to the time they're available to the public as well.

There was a white 2012 New New Beetle at Wolfsgart this past weekend. I have attached pictures. I like it better in person then I did in the pictures online when they first unveiled it. I didn't take interior pictures because who ever the person is that has this car taking it to shows has trashed the inside. It did look a little smaller inside then the New Beetles.
