Default Letter from my car's original owners.

I don't think I've ever posted this, but here ya go. It is a letter that was left for me in the glovebox by the previous (original) owners of my car.

[I looked for months for the perfect beetle; however, every time I would find one online in my area while at work I'd end up going there at 5pm and it would have already been sold THE SAME DAY. Yes, I experienced this at least three times before I finally just started going in person multiple times a week to see if one was in stock. I was never looking for red, but it came upon me one day when I happened to stop. I signed papers on my beauty approximately 30 MINUTES after it was traded in.]

I still look back at it from time to time because I think it's just so awesome/sweet that they did this.

Lucky! I'm jealous, you don't have to worry about your water pump or the cost. The letter though, it's sweet. Like the letters found with abandoned babies left on a doorsteps in books and movies. "Her name is Kate, please let her know how hard it was for us to give her up. We've been watching you and your family and know..."

I left a letter like that in my Miata and when Pomelo does go she'll have one too.

That is surprising. If the dealer had found it before you did, it would have been removed.

I hid a note similiar to that in my red Turbo S. I even hid it, pretty well. I was told later, by the gal who took it in, that they found it, and it policy to not let the new buyer know who had it last. The remove any personal information evidence that they find.

You are so lucky! In more ways than one!

Smurfette's previous owners wont send me any info on her at all. I meant to get it before we left but I was so excited that I forgot it so it is my fault but the gentleman and his wife kept saying they would mail it and never did. So sad. I would love to know whats been done to my Smurfette. When I sold my eclipse I left a love note in the glove box and will do the same with any vehicle we get rid of.

I'd been looking for one at the dealership for months; this one happened to turn up and I signed papers on it 30 minutes after they'd traded it in. I wasn't looking for red; I just happened to drive up on my way home from work and they told me they'd just gotten a trade-in on their lot across town. I didn't even give them a chance to clean it up... they still owe me the initial "detail" job, haha. I even have a coupon thing that says so. I guess that's why I was able to find the letter.

That was really sweet. Also love the post about leaving the matching RC car in for the next owners!

When I bought my first bug, which was a 1967, I bought it from an older guy who had been widowed and was still missing his wife very much. He kept talking about her when we were buying the car. When I got around to getting into the compartment waaay in the back of the bug, I found faded "boudoir" photos of his wife from the 1970's. I called him and carefully explained that I had stumbled upon these private photos of a very beautiful lady and that I thought he might want them back. He did and I returned them, because I knew how much he missed her.

When I sold my 04 NBC 2.5 yrs ago I wrote a note and left it in the glove box but as if it was coming from Lilo her self and not from me. The new owners that it was cute and decided to leave it with the owners manual in the glove box. They haven't joined the org even though I've mentioned it alot to them. I do keep in touch Via Facebook with the new owners and Lilo is still doing very well for them .
