Car: '99 Isotope w/Panama interior
Default FS-1999 NB, Isotope**SOLD**

SOLD... THANKS TO ALL THAT INQUIRED!

1999, 5 speed, 72k miles, Isotope, very rare (for USA) matching "Panama" interior- LOOK HERE FOR INTERIOR AD CD, hi-end front and rear facia, wing. rear panel cracked. Front paint cracked from previous owners mishap. I bought the car 8/05 with 29k miles. I bought it for the milage... and my 4 year old at the time loved Beetles. I work 35 hiway miles from home. this car has given me consistant 32 mpg. My son is a bit bigger now and I needed something a little easier to get in and out of. I have replaced the beetle with an xB. This is a great car and will give it's next owner many years of trouble free service.

The car will need 2 front tires very soon. Also, the AC has a VERY slow leak. I'm in Florida and last summer I had to put 1 can of r134 at mid season.

It had new front brakes installed just before I bought it. I have installed a new altenator and battery.

Asking $5500/offers

Have you been in Jacksonville all this time? Wow. I've never seen your beetle putting round town. It is a nice one for sure.

Haha! The elusive 99 isotope beetle. Very strange, since Isotope didn't become an official beetle color until MY 2001. This is one rare car indeed!

I wish there was a "scoop" to relay. I think I'm the 2nd owner. It was sold new from the VW dealer in Orange Park, FL. I think the dealer installed the expensive front and rear facia and wing... maybe even the interior... I have no idea. I was confused about the color on a '99 as I've read it wasn't available until a later year. Not being a real NB super enthusiast I didn't research it much. I'll leave that to the new owner!

Very cool. I think the car was a limited car to test the color in the US market. VW released a limited number of vortex blues in 2000 to test the color before it became available the following year. This probably won't have any impact on your sales price, but this is a VERY rare car. Good luck!

I think I know who the original owner was. Did he live in the Murray Hill/Westside area?

According to Car Fax the first owner was in Georgia, does not say where and it was a lease. The second Owner purchased the car in Orange Park, from dealer inventory, but no dealer name is given and they registered it in Jacksonville. The third and current owner (HiLighter), purchased it from Pulido's Automotive in Jacksonville.

There is only one odd thing, there is a specific comment from the Florida DMV when HiLighter registered it, it says and I quote... "Vehicle Color noted as Green". Now why do you suppose they did that?
