Post 2000 GLX Turbo Silver 5 Spd

My car has 95,431 miles mostly highway, it's fully loaded, with an optional 6 Disc Changer, black leather seats and manual transmission.

I've maintained my Bug well and over the last year i've even installed a new clutch.

My car needs some engine work after my timing belt failed.
I've replaced the belt though the engine's cylinder valves need to be repaired or replaced at a hefty labor cost.

My car still has lots of usable parts and i love it too much to have it sent to the junkyard or worse, have it crushed.

I post this for anyone in the North NJ area that wishes to purchase this vehicle.

Check out my pics below, asking $3,000 obo.

Is this car still for sale? Is the car currently drivable?

The car is still for sale... I'm waiting to hear back from someone. The car is not currently driveable.

FYI... pick up confirmed for April 4th.

Ok, well the pick up did not go as planned. It all started on Wednesday...

The rental company (U-Haul) had to get a new tow strap for the car carrier, they said it would be fixed by Friday, but there was one surprise that they had yet to share with me...

Our '02 Ford truck started running roughly, upon investigation we had to replace the serpentine belt, fuel filter and #7 was misfiring. However the only work that we could do ourselves was changing the belt; because Ford in its infinite wisdom designed a need for a special fuel filter removal tool! Also the coil packs are bolted under the fuel rails, I'd like to the engineer who designed that! Who in their right mind prevents the owners from changing out their spark plugs!

So we had to take to the shop, which assured us it would be ready by Friday. So my plan 'B' was to use the '94 Ford Explorer, here is where the U-Haul story takes a unique turn ... apparently U-Haul has a policy (there has been ligation) of not renting car carriers for use with certain model years of the Ford Explorer; of which mine is one.

But we thought we were saved when the shop called late Friday afternoon to tell us that the truck was ready. Well it turns out 10 minutes after we picked it up the CEL light comes on and the problem resurfaces worse than before; so after $300+ dollars we are back where we were on Wednesday.

And no I did not make this up...

BeetleGirl11 we enjoyed the GTG, however brief it was and thanks again.

The third time's the charm, so I now have number four; the silver headed step child.

All in all, the trip went well, with two exceptions, gas for the truck (over $200) and when I got to my house it was pouring rain; so getting the car off the carrier and in the garage at 0130 was fun.
