Here's one for all your color concept rachetheads! Bet this can be bought right!
Found this on today! And if the Orange Color Concept was too old for you and you're not a rachethead, then here's another. And the higher miles don't bother you, here's what I'm betting will go well under $6K. No Reserve Auction

What's going on with that first one you linked? Ricer had too much fun with a rattle can or something it looks like.
More seriously, is that a factory rear bumper? I always loved the look of that recess or whatever it is, being textured. But I don't want to bedliner mine, and every time I look at the Turbo S rear, I like it less. |

The rear, and the fender guards are dealer sold and/or installed options. I don't like them either. Go here: [Courtesy of Gunther (NBM)] |

Really? All that Orange on the door cards? Around the stereo, climate control, shifter and cup holders? I have a Snap Orange Color Concept. That's not how they come from the factory.
Wow also, didn't notice the first time I looked, but the inserts on those Take 5's are gone. Thanks for that catalog link! Last edited by DrTrae; 11-27-2010 at 07:07 PM.. |

Not positive those are even Take 5 wheels, why would anyone remove the inserts, unless they just got real shabby looking. The red inserts on my '05 Flint Gray's Take 5s need some attention! You are very welcome for the link, I couldn't believe I happen on it. Looks like the real deal! |

Consider it done for any I post.
How about a separate classified topic, something like NBsFS - Found on the Web! There is a search engine that searches all the Craigslist Cities and all Web based sales and auction sites but I can't find the link! ![]() |

And, I know I had to take my Take-5 inserts off because they warped ![]() Photo of warped inserts : http://pumpkintechnologies.com/bug/wheel/2.jpg (that photo was taken about a year and a half ago, they got much worse after that, and VW says it's "Normal") Every single one of them warped in some way and had gaps between the wheels and them. It looked really trashed. I spoke with VW about getting new ones, but a fresh set of inserts is $55 per insert. And no way am I paying $1100 for 20 pieces of plastic that will just warp again. My car only has 57,000 miles on it, no reason why the plastic should warp, but it does it on SOME cars and NOT on others. It's hit or miss from what I have seen. Instead, I'm looking at having the wheels cleaned and powdercoated. That only costs about $250 - $300 *total*. This is what it looks like now with no inserts.. : http://pumpkintechnologies.com/test/Sting/5s/5s.jpg This is what it'll look like once I get the wheels powdercoated... : http://pumpkintechnologies.com/test/...5s/black5s.jpg And *finally* I'm going to start working on the hardwood floor in the back of Sting. Give it that '50's pickup-bed look, but with locking storage bins in the floor for my camera and gear.

That's too bad about your wheels. The yellow inserts make the wheels and the wheels make the car!
Your idea of pc'ing the wheels doesn't look bad in your photoshop pic but I deal with pc in my business and it's not cheap, esp when there is masking involved. Have you tried this place for replacement inserts? If I'm understanding this site, and it's the real deal, this is where your dealer would be getting the inserts and they get less for the whole wheel than your rip you off dealer wants for the inserts. Go here: Volkswagen Beetle Wheels / Rims, Lights & Mirrors Let me know what they want for the inserts, I have red ones on my Take 5s, and I'm sure others here would be interested. |
