Default For Quick Sale: '01 Yellow GLX - 5sp - 99k mi - $3500

SOLD
Location: Warner Robins, GA 31098

I'm moving to Germany on Jan 4th and this needs to be sold before then.

2001 VW Beetle GLX 1.8t (APH) w/ 5 sp.
Yellow w/ black leather interior
One owner - 99k miles
VIN: 3VWDC21C71M409699

Runs great and interior is in above avg condition (Guardian treatment pkg from dealer). Everything works inc. the heated seats. Exterior is fair (body kit needs work). I ran out of time before moving out of the country to finish, so I'm discounting the price instead.

I will add more details and pics over the next week.

- 2 tires brand new & alignment last month / 2 with good life left
- New accessory fan and hatch struts last month
- Timing belt & metal water pump changed at 75k mi (PD Performance kit)
- Has VR6 clutch w/ 13-lb Autotech flywheel (no slippage)
- Short shift kit
- New A/C compressor @ 46k mi
- 3" turbo down-pipe and 3" magnaflow cat into Techtonics 2.5" cat-back exhaust w/ Borla muffler
- Dietrich front bumper
- Caractere "whale tail" spoiler
- Audi TT pedals
- Neuspeed springs
- Custom 10" fiberglass sub w/ 200w amp(retains the full spare)

- Other normal maintenance has been done: motor mounts, O2 sensor, MAF sensor, etc.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:
1) Paypal using credit card (I'll absorb the $90 fees)
2) A combination of cash & PAYPAL
* Thanks for the info, I guess post-dated checks are not legal... so I had to remove that option.*

Lot's of looks so far. Does the price seem reasonable at least? If I could take 2 cars with me I would, but the AMG had priority...

Wow, I live in Warner Robins...small world.

Wasn't there a guy named mike something looking to spend $3500 for his daughter floating around the forums?

Oh man, I had the money until 2 weeks ago when I had to put more money into my car to keep it going. Maybe I'll have a Christmas miracle and will get the money together! My birthday is next week too, all I need is a miracle!

That brings up a good point; most of us don't have that much cash hanging around. So, I'm ok with "creative" payments:

1) Paypal using credit card (I'll absorb the $90 fees)
2) A combination of cash & PAYPAL

If there are any serious buyers out there for this car, since I live in the same town, I would be happy to act as a unbiased reviewer of the car if you wanted me to look at it for you, drive it, etc.

Since time is running out, if you purchase it but can't make it down before he hops a flight for Germany I have a spare slot in the driveway to store it a few weeks while you make arrangements to come get it. I know the holidays are a rough time to set up a field trip to get a car

To the seller, I would advise Robin's Credit Union Bulletin and a premium ad on Auto Trader. Sadly there isn't much time but if I could sell my POS truck for 6 grand using those last month I'm sure you could. If you don't sell it before leaving let me know and I'll see about storing/selling it for you.

PS: I hope you enjoyed your stay in WR. Living here all my life I'm used to seeing the AF personnel come and go like the wind. EDIMGIAFAD!

Thanks!

I walked in the door from work and 5 minutes later a knock on the door... A guy and his wife wanted to test-drive it for thier 16-yr old daughter. Their only aprehension is that it is a 5-sp. However, she just told them a few days ago she wants a yellow beetle... how funny. He's gonna let me know tomorrow.

If they get it for her, that is one lucky girl... my 1st car was a 1978 Plymoth Volare, white with maroon vinyl bench seats! lol

Thanks for the offer to check it out for people!

I was going to throw it on the Credit Union flyer, but the next print is 2-wks away and I plan to havi ti sold by then... That's the way I roll... lol I sold my house in 4-wks (cash-sale) without a realtor!

And Yes, I have enjoyed my time here. I would have stayed (thats why I bought a house) except I decided to stay in the AF past 20-yrs and jump on an assignment to Germany. I always wanted to check out Europe. Thanks again!

No-go on the potential sale, I think a 5-sp is too "tough" to teach a kid to drive...
Any offers out there?

No comments what-so-ever, huh? Nothing to contribute?

Surely, you can think of something!

I've got 1500$ and a 2000 Saturn SC1. I also have a Wii Fit Balance Board, a Windows-based desktop, a buttery soft deer hide, and a chap book of poetry and short stories that I wrote and put together myself. I could write you some poetry too - custom poetry! I am in grad school right now studying creative writing. A few more paychecks, but I don't think I'll make it in time for you to leave for Germany. I'd need to unload the Saturn fast. Anyone want to buy a 2000 Saturn SC1?
