Exclamation WANT TO BUY Turbo S headunit

I am having problems with the volume knob on my Turbo S but I DO NOT want to switch to a aftermarket radio. If you have a Turbo S headunit for sale or know someone who has a good working unit for sale, let me know. It has to be a Turbo S headunit with the white display lighting.

IDK how often these white display radios come up for sale but If the volume control is the only issue you are having you may want to check this out It's not cheap but it beats paying for a new unit or waiting for a turbo s one.
Hope it helps

J.Arce's quoted link is a mobile app that doesn't seem to load properly from here. Here is the link
VW VOLKSWAGEN CD 6 Disc Radio BEETLE JETTA REPAIR - eBay (item 350428476803 end time Feb-03-11 20:42:52 PST)=

I didn't try his other.

Here's another that does head unit and CD Drive repair, type in "radio repair" on the site search, they do not have one for VW but there phone # is on the top of the page, call them
http://replacementradios.com/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_description=1 &keywords=VW+Beetle+&x=7&y=7

The eBay repair shops are good, and would also be my recommendation. If an "S" head is a white face, there is one currently running on eBay also. Search entry "VW Radio". I just saw it yesterday or this morning.

I wouldn't send it in for repair because there is nothing wrong with it. That's how they are. Mine is just as lousy as yours and there is nothing to fix. Someone else in the know said that VW had a different company building their radios for awhile. Therefore, some of the later models had these characteristics. I forgot the details but he answered fully the volume question, but I can't find the post...

Not knowing what the "problem" is, how can you say "there is nothing wrong with it. That's how they are." The OPer is indicating that something has changed with his/hers, that there is a problem. He/she also makes no mention of it being a lousy unit!

I would, however, be interested in seeing the post if you can find it. Always ready to learn more.

If you read the other MIN Volume thread that you and I are discussing, this same person stated that he has the same problem as I do. His volume knob has to be turned 10 times (exaggeration here) to get any change. There is nothing broken, that's the way they were made...

The issue with the radio is minor but it was frustrating. I usually have to turn the volume knob several times to get the slightest volume adjustment. I went to a local radio/television repair guy and asked for an estimate. The employee looked at my radio and told me to give him $5.00 and he would repair it plus show me how to repair it when the problem returns. $5.00 and 30 seconds later y volume knob works great. All he did was use a can of compressed air, like for computers, and blew into the space around the knob. When I turned the car on and tried it out it workd great. He said there isn't a fix for this but the sir should work for a while.....weird.

I no longer have the cassette in my S. I'll look for it if you still are looking for one. I would need to get the code.

Default Monsoon head unit (casette) out of Turbo S

I have a Monsoon unit (casette) out of a Turbo S.

Let me know if you are interested. It works fine, and I have the radio code as well.

Thanks,

Kevin
