With all the "S" activity going on around here, thought someone might be interested:
Low mileage, 2003 Turbo S Salvage on eBay, complete car, not a part out. Make offer. Just be careful with this one. No Title! Just a B of S! Why? Somebody else holding the Title? NOT my listing! MORAV

When the insurance co. totals the car it deems that the car is unfit for a rebuild. In doing so they give the car a salvage title. Meaning it is only good for parts. They do this so unsafe cars keep off the road. With the way the a-pillar is tweaked I can see why they totaled it. Uni-body cars are hard to ever get straight again, and after a serious accident they lose their structural integrity.

I hate seeing that.

Seller states he/she holds NO TITLE! Only offering a Bill of Sale! Which is a document simply stating you have bought something from someone else, identifying the item and the price. It is not a document legally attached, by filing, to the vehicle as a title or lien is. It is a document normally used in conjunction with a Title to convey Ownership, or when a Title is non-existent by lack of requirement. While this happens with boats and trailers in some States, I know of no State that will issue a new Automobile Title from a Bill of Sale. The original Title is created from the MSO (Manufacturers Statement of Origin) and all subsequent Titles are issued only with the forfeiture of the previous Title. That also means the Seller only possesses the vehicle, not the Title, which normally indicates someone else holds title to the vehicle, indicating they have a vested interest, like you know, a bank, or finance company. The Seller may not even be the Owner in a transaction that is simply handled with a Bill of Sale. I might suggest never buying a vehicle without a Title, free and clear of any encumbrances, if you plan on ever registering it and putting it on the street. You will spend thousands trying to straighten out the ownership and may ultimately find out someone else has legal title to the vehicle, not the seller. It happens all the time. Sometimes, in situations like this one, the Seller may in fact have clean ownership, simply having lost the title, doesn't want to spend the time and money with getting a replacement, or may be flying "under the radar" and can't apply for a lost title. The seller assumes the vehicle will be bought for parts and a Buyer will not require a title. I once drove over 500 miles for a set of seats, only to find out they were out of a perfect vehicle the owner was "parting-out" prior to it being repossessed. Well at least that was his story. All I know, is I saw the car, it wasn't wrecked and it was fully drivable. Just missing the seats and a lot of other parts we pulled of while I was there. I'd already sent payment for the seats, and someone was going to buy the rest of the parts at that point. lol |

Agreed, but I don't think $2k will buy it. Not an "S" with only the damage shown and the low mileage. At $2k it wouldn't be here, dismantlers would be all over it. If someone in the Hialeah area wants to buy it and part it out, but lacks the cash, I might be up to putting up the cash as a financial partner. No dreamers though.
