Default Battle Scar From My Roswell Trip

Early Friday morning June 29th, just east of Flagstaff AZ. ran over something in the fast lane of Highway 40. It also broke the bottom arm of the fog light. Luckly I had bra on, so it did not do anymore damage. Put a small slit in the bra.

Ouch! I guess I don't have to say it, but that sucks!!!!!

Gonna try to get it smoothed out, or replaced, or just deal with it?

Actually a cheap and easy part to replace, just have to have it painted first though.

Default Ouch

To go and come back all that way and have that happen. What a bummer. Minus the calculations for distance it seems to follow the rule that most accidents happen within five miles of home. Or is it two. At least you're back safe and sound.

OUCH! Actually, mine's so chewed up there's hardly any grid left! And, my foglight is smashed. Along with the replacement foglight, which I dropped So I know how you feel.
Not a hard part to replace, Erin did a how to on it.

According to Bentley's, there are three 'spreader' clips across the bottom which hold the spoiler. To remove press the spreader pins through the clips. The mesh grill just snaps to the back of the spoiler. Let me know how this works out.

Default Bentley??

I have book from my old 99 GLS, is it that book and what page??
I looked thru the book and found front end and it shows the grille without fog lights. Just messing with the grille I see it just pops in and out.

Thanks,

KNEWBUG

Get a dremel, drill a few holes and use black zip ties from behind. You'll always know it's broken but nobody would notice without looking right at it.

Edit: Your car is too new / nice to do that to.

Don't go butcher your new vert...the grill comes off easily on your model.

There is a How-To then Callisto actually posted some good pics of the process in this thread.

Mine is the eBahn CD/online. I'll have to check on what page or how it's referenced, but it indicates the mesh does indeed just pop out. The actual surrounding spoiler is supposedly retained, to the main bumper, by three clips. I'm on vacation right now but will be back on the 21st and I'll see if I can find a better reference if you need.
