Cool sun visor .. same as hard top?

Hi!. I am new to this forum and I wanted to see if anyone here knows if the sun visors for the convertible 07 beetle are the same as for the hardtop. I've also heard that the ones for the passat with Homelink work too. Does anyone know about this? I accidentally broke the driver's visor and mirror, but I am having a hard time finding one. It's beige. If anyone's got a spare one, please let me know!

Thanks!!!

I think they're different, due to the bezels on the mounting end. Also in the later years, the mirror slider handle is bigger with a rubber cover to prevent rattling against the windshield header.

Default How I installed Homelink in my NBC

I bought a Homelink unit off eBay, not in a visor, just the bare bones unit. Don't remember which make which didn't really matter. Removed all excess plastic and trim not needed. Just "stick" the unit under the center dash panel (not on panel but under it) and ran a pair of wires to a remote push-button.

Now to the techie part. Connect the two wires to just ONE button on the HL unit, any one will do, to the remote switch. Also two wires for 12 volts and ground, hot all time or switched. Your choice but think about it. Installed a small push-button (Radio Shack, two pack red and black) under the left trim piece next to the steering column housing, opposite side of the bud vase holder, which is a mirror image. Push button location in the trim piece is close so measure twice and drill one hole. You will never see the button or even know that's its ever installed.

Program the button selected button as normal, instructions at the HomeLink web site, replace the center dash cover and your done. Of course this is not a plug and play installation. A little work and thought is needed and it may not be for everyone to attempt, but easy enough to do.

okay thanks

I checked their part numbers, they are different, which means they shouldn't be the same
I'm looking forward to get the US sunvisors instead of my euro ones without the airbag warnings
