I really really want to get a convertible, but I'm afraid where I live will make it impossible. I live on a dirt road that gets muddy when it rains. If it rains a lot, it's muddy enough that sometimes my wheels spin and mud gets thrown back on the car. If something like that were to happen, would my top get stained? I am looking at a relfex silver with a black top and I have visions of spots from mud getting slung on it. Any suggestions?

Hardy har har. I'll be doing that a lot, but not when it's raining! There would be a bunch of other issues such as ruined seats and carpeting if I did that all the time, not to mention how cold it would be in the winter!

My guess is that it wont be easy keeping it clean... But if you hose it off, staining wont be a problem..I think its going to take some care,, Using a Soft top conditioner and protector like Raggtop or similar product will help cut down the potential for spoting or staining..

it's a little harder than a tin top but not by much. i picked up a mother's top cleaner, i was the car once a week or so, and clean the top every 4-6 weeks. the only "hard" part is making sure you have rinsed it well and all the suds are gone, and leaving the top up for a while so it has time to dry!

Nick, your car is beautiful! I went roaming this evening and there are several that I am interested in. There are actually two Aquarius blue verts at the VW dealership but neither are priced. One looks like it probably just came in, had no plate but still had a bumper sticker that they hadn't removed yet. The other had a small sticker with a stock number, the year (2005) and a few other things but there was nothing that indicated mileage or what they're asking for it. At the local Kia dealership, there is a beautiful gecko green vert that's a stick shift, which I would love, but it doesn't have heated seats. That might now in and of itself be a deal breaker, but I've grown to really like my seats!
