Hi All,
Yesterday I walked to my car as usual and the first thing i noticed was that my alarm key wasn't working, Then i opened the car with key, the light in the lock seems to flicker. next thing i noticed is that the windows won't roll down and the trunk wont open with the key. and also the consul light wont come on when the door is open. yet. the lock buttons on the inside do work. i checked all the visible fuses in the box next to the driver side with a fuse detector and they all seem to be working. so if anyone has any idea what it please help before i take it to the mechanic... is it a bigger fuse inside the car? is it the computer? i have no clue. thanks, photography bug ![]() |

Sounds like a battery issue. Check the voltage of your battery. My mom has a convertible and when her battery was just slightly low...the top wouldn't go all the way down. There wasn't enough voltage for it. So maybe the reason your key isn't working is because there isn't enough voltage in your car battery to activate the commands you are telling it. I believe locks will work for awhile since it doesn't take that much power. Try that first, may be as simple as that.

I know you said you checked the fuses, but your symptoms sounds Exactly like a blown fuse #14.
I've replaced mine a dozen times, even went so far as to get the new fancy fuses that have an LED that lights up when the fuse is blown so you can see it as soon as you open the panel. Here is an old [post with a picture of the fuse panel. I'd replace #14 just for the fun of it. FUSE BOX--> need HELP PLEASE |
