Unhappy I miss my NBC

For those of you that have a New Beetle Convertible, you know how much fun they can be to drive.
Well mine is currently at the surgeon's office being operated on. In the meanwhile, we have been given a Kia Spectra to drive.
I miss my NBC and can't wait to get it back.
However I figured someone here must know/understand the NBC withdrawal that I am currently experiencing.

Darlin it's not just NBC's. I feel the same about Chip. That's why he has 234k on him & I drive him even with the risk of being stranded on the road. I just can't resist him Hope you're reunited soon!

Understood. The seperation was easier because the loaner was an Audi A4.
I hope for a quick recovery for both you and your baby!

Unhappy

My Daisey is not a convertible either, but she is in having surgery too and I amm feeling that sadness also. About 2 months ago, I had the tb, waterpump and tensioners changed. I have since had to add coolant twice, so I called the mechanic and he said to bring her that she is leaking somewhere.

Now, the waiting game.......

We should be getting the call early this week with the ETA of our Beetle.

I know all about missing the New Beetle in general after having gotten my first one in 2002. It's just after having our latest addition for a month and a half...I never expected to be away from it for an extended period of time...and furthermore I never expected to suffer from seperation anxiety.
I wonder if our Car Insurance Company would pay for me to speak to someone about this miserable feeling that I am feeling at present.

Thanks. I can't wait to get it back.
I hate, hate, hate the Kia. There is no comparison between the 2 vehicles and it just makes me even sadder about my Bug.

I can relate. It extends to Bugs in general! Five years ago, I got a used '02 MB in that year's version of dark blue, Marlin Blue from a non VW dealer. I just had to have that car-drove past it, turned around, walked in and got it. Nice color, not my first choice in color, but didn't care because, well, it was an NB, what's not to love, eh??! I have had a blast, but just a few weeks ago, ended up with transmission issues at just under 59,000 miles. There was also a major modification done to her that I never was informed of and learned after the fact. The previous owner I think also bottomed her out quite a few times, so I think I bought her with inherited issues. So for the transmission issue, I took her to one of the two VW dealerships where she got worked one through the years, and I was apprised it was an unfixable problem and new transmission was the only resolution. Estimated cost: 4 grand. Extended warranty I had bought: conveniently expired just 3 weeks prior. I simply did not have the money for a new transmission. So the best solution was to trade her in for another used NB. (don't have the $$$$ for a brand new one right now!) The dealer diagnosing did not have any NBs in my price range, but my other VW dealer had a 2003 in Blue Lagoon, the color I always wanted anyway. They accepted the trade, still gave me a reasonable trade in amount, and I only had to put $500 down. But as you can see, I was not about to give up on having an NB! I love my "new" NB, and in the meantime, know that my former one will get repaired and find a new home. She is in fact, already listed for sale. It worked out well, because I just didn't have that kind of money and there was no other choice for me at this time; I know what I can and cannot afford right now. I knew having her go to a VW dealer to be re-done was best. I felt bad, but it's one of those bad luck things. I celebrate the fun I've had with her, and know I will continue the fun with my '03 who is one beautiful, smooth ride that I am thrilled with!

Our NBC should be home momentarily...yippee!
We checked on her yesterday during visiting hours, and she was looking good. It will be so good to have her back.
Too bad I work every day till September. Hopefully I will still have some time though to drive our NBC.
