You could also try a dealer but most don't have them in stock.
Cool. Checking links.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, both sellers want almost $13 to mail this $1.68 part...

the sad part of that shipping charge is that 3 days later I ordered a new shift knob. I could have combined things if I had been paying attention. And, the shift knob came in the same size box but shipped for far less than the rubber deals.

You saved my sanity. Sometimes the simplest remedies are the best. Now why couldn't the dealer have done this? You rock.

Thank you so much for the TSB and the part numbers for the rubber bushings, CGK. Mine came in today, and 5 minutes later...no rattles!

I really appreciate your post.

You can also buy a rubber vacuum cap assortment at the auto parts store for about a dollar. They will do the same job.

Thumbs down Oh No! Not WD-40!

I used some WD-40. Sprayed it on a rag and whiped it on the latches and the parts of the top where the windows touch it.

I have zero top noise now for the past week or so. I am sure it will come back, but it was a quick and easy 5 minute fix.

My top is so quiet now it seems like a hardtop. BUT THANK GOD IT's NOT I love going topless!
I wouldn't use WD-40 for anything car related except removal of tape residue and the like. As others have suggested - "white" grease!

The only problem with all of the non-dealer places is the shipping...all of the above retailers want $10-$15 to ship these little 27 cent pieces.
If you have a dealer that is convenient to you, a call to the parts department to order a couple of #1Y 6M301957 parts will save you the aformentioned $10-$15.

Excellent work CGK, and i can confirm this is a fix.
We have had a squeak when going over bumps and when you have coilovers the suspension is very firm so this noise has been getting on my nerves for some time.
I have replaced the strut bushes and bearings on the passenger side twice trying to stop it and failed.
Having completly swapped over our beige hood for black one from a donor damaged car we double checked the locking latch on the passenger side and now we have a squeak free car
Hurray

Cheers
CGK
