Practice - Practice - Practice and Practice. And like Kittie says ajust your miror to the exterior to get a widder view. Another thing you may look at is the small round miror you stick on the outiside miror and which gives you a widder angle view. But like I said: Practice and practice is the best way to learn your car. Have fun!

yep. turn your head. if that doesn't work, try bending at the waist while simultaneously turning your head. if that doesn't work, try putting the top down before putting the car in reverse. got money? put a camera on the back bumper and a monitor in the dash. all viable options. hope they help. ![]() |

i have blind spot mirrors on my side mirrors and those help a lot see things that are right along side the car all the way back, and give me more vision that i would normally have.
other than that, double and triple check as you back up... i don't think it's that bad, really. after driving with it for a year and a half i'm just used to it i guess... |

I have trouble turning my head (stiff neck) so I've developed a technique that lets me back up and not get hit. I rev the engine, pop the clutch, leap two feet backward, and then slam the brakes on and wait for a couple of seconds. I've found that when I then continue to back up normally that all the cars are patiently waiting for me to exit (some do get cantankerous because they erroneously thought that they had to slam on their brakes to keep from hitting me). Most of them wave at me and being a friendly sort I always wave back. Works for me!

Trust me, its not just the Verts. The hardtops have some nasty blind spots too. Couple that with living in Pick-up truck country and pulling out of parking spaces becomes really fun. I've almost been hit a few times and people give me nasty looks but I can't see around the F350 parked next to me!

There are aspherical mirrors available designed to replace the entire sideview mirror glass, or the stick on spot mirrors also work well.
