Default bad hairday -help me girls

So, I entirely love our new vert. I've never driven fast in a convertible of any sort before. Is there some sort of trick so your hair doesn't get in a big jumbled mess?

I can't keep my bb cap on. My hair is too short for a ponytail.

I bought a scarf today and I hold little hope it won't fly away.

Did I mention I entirely LOVE our new vert though?

We have that. I can't figure out how it helps though?

I have long hair, one length. I put it in a ponytail and also put a stretchy hair band on. Or, a ponytail and a visor. Visors are FABOULOUS! Keeps the sun out of your eyes, even with sunglasses, it is sunny so they help.

So, maybe with shorter hair, a nice hair band you keep in the car and/or a nice visor.

My mom (who is not on the org) keeps a red visor (same color as the interior!) in the car to wear when she is driving with the top down. Keeps the sun out of her eyes and the wind out of her hair.

A bit of a nuisance? Perhaps, but then she gets to drive a vert, so maybe they cancel each other out!

my mom's hair is shortish, between earlobe and shoulders, so she can't quite make it into a secure ponytail. she has problems in my car, she ends up either holding it behind her head or wearing a hat. my hair is pretty long, halfway down my back, so i have no issues keeping it in a ponytail, combined with a headband. with a convertible you can't have in between hair, it needs to either be long enough for a secure ponytail, or short. my only suggestion at this point is a baseball cap.

also, i keep a wide toothed "shower comb" in my purse or glovebox to get the inevitable snarls, and also keep an extra package of elastics in the glovebox for guests who may need one.

The air flows from back to front in a convertible. (mostly) Having the wind screen blocks this airflow. Next time your driving think about which way your hair is blowing.

Think of a tornado... my hair was even doing that yesterday Back, side, twisting up.

I have the not long not short hair that Topless Kitties mom does apparently. Perfect for a motorcycle helmet though! Which is why it is this length in the first place.

With the wind screen you will notice a big difference. The back draft will be a lot less then without it. At high speed you may put the windows up with the screen up. At city speed just the screen up will be enough. My wife has medium long hair and only wears a hat when it is very sunny other that she is always hair untied (sorry for my english )

I have the windscreen, you still have to wear a visor, headband, etc.

Yes, with the windows up, and with the windscreen in place, you'll see a huge difference.

I keep lots of bobby pins handy. My hair's long enough to pull into a ponytail, but strands inevitably escape - the pins work great and would probably do the same with shorter hair. I just bought my NBC last week (hence my lack of a photo yet, sorry!) and quickly discovered that the baseball hat I use to control my hair when driving my Miata doesn't work with the NBC, as the air flow patterns are different and kept lifting the cap off my head!

my mom doesn't have a NB convertible, but still a convertible. I find that a baseball cap works best. Though a scarf with some bobby pins to hold it on might help. Otherwise, keep some detangling spray/gel/mouse whatever and a wide tooth comb or brush on hand. I find that when I straighten my hair (natually curly), it knots less...so I NEVER ride in the convertible with curly hair unless it's in a pony tail/bun AND a hat! lol knots are bad enough, but rats nests SUCK.

same here. i don't actually "wear" my hair curly ever, but sometimes i get lazy and don't blowdry it so it stays curly and i just leave it in a bun type thing. if it's nice i won't leave the top up just because of that, but it definitely is worse to untangle when it was curly than straightened.
