Car: I have a 2002 Turbo S New Beetle, a 2006 New Beetle Convertible (S model),
Default Headlight problem.

I am having a problem with the left headlight on my 2006 New Beetle Convertible. The light went out. I changed the bulb-it lasted one day-changed the bulb again and now it is out again. The first bulb I put in, that quit working, does not appear to be burnt out. Has anyone else had this experience? Should I get my bulbs only from a VW dealership?

Thanks,

Did you touch the bulb with your fingers? And no, you do not need to get your bulbs from the dealer. I don't have a specific bulb or store to buy from, but you can find replacements.

No I didn't touch the bulb with my bare hand, so I don't think that is the problem. Thanks for the reply.

Our 2005 NBC had the left headlight going out intermittently. If I tapped it with my finger, it would often come back on. Turned out that the wiring harness for that headlight was slightly melted, so it was replaced under warranty.

I'll second checking the wiring harness on the headlight. Make sure it is secure and not melted or funny looking.
