Red face Do seat covers really help?

This is probably going to be the dumbest question of all time, but do seat covers really help? I know they'll help with the whole "OW HOT LEATHER HOT LEATHER" dance I do when it's sunny out, but I'm looking for something to help with the whole clothes stuck to your body problem. I've never had a vert before nor have I ever had a car with leather seats. And, there is NOTHING attractive about me getting out of the car with my clothes stuck to me because I've sweated through them in the 5 minute ride I have. Before I went off an invested in some seat covers I figured I'd just ask the dumb question and then run and hide in the corner waiting for the pointing and giggling Would I be better off getting one of those foily window doohickeys (technical term)? I didn't want to go the whole window tinting route...they are pretty picky here in CT and I'd rather stay off the cops radar. I do leave the windows down or at least cracked about half way which helps, but not enough.

Is no tinting allowed at all in CT? If some level is allowed I would recommend it. The window "doohickeys" are a bit of a hassle but they do help on those really horrible days.

As far as seat covers, don't buy something that will hinder your side airbags. We are going to San Antonio, TX in about a week and expect it to be hot there. I went to Wal-Mart and grabbed these. We are going to try them out on the trip. I'll let you know if they help. I have used then here for a few days and they do definitely keep you off the hot leather. They look kind of dorky but I think they will help keep us a bit cooler out on the Interstate.

I was going to suggest the same thing too. The beads keep you from actually touching the hot leather and allows for air circulation.

If you don't mind me asking, do they come in different colors? and what do they cost? I really like them! I have a little split in the seam on the passenger side, and that would cover nicely.

They cost just over $8 a piece. I have never seen them in any other colors.

My dad used to use the wood beaded thing. I always thought they looked odd, but hey, if they work for ya!!

I bought some seat covers on ebay... they work great and I was able to customize them, and they're air bag compatible. They were a lil pricey, but they were my Mother's Day gift so it all evens out!
