Default Entry-vent stopped working.

Hello everyone.

My girlfriend has an 03 convertible... She recently had it in a body shop to replace the rear bumper. When we picked it up today i noticed that the passenger front window along the top edge was popped out on the outside of the convertible top. The function of the windows venting when you pull the handle to allow it to clear the convertible top has stopped working on the passenger side, but still works fine on the driver side. I am positive its no fault of the body shop, although the rep said that they usually disconnect the battery when working on the cars (may have effected the control module for the windows, but i doubt it). Has anyone had this problem before? is it possible a control module got freaked out by losing power? what could i look for before taking it into the dealership service department?

Thanks!
Nick

Possible. But before YOU do anything, take it back to the shop that did the work on your bumper and make them aware of the problem.

Well, you don't know that, and you need to protect yourself first. Have them take care of it, since it happened under their care.

And don't feel as though you're taking advantage of them. If it's a simple fix, they'll gladly fix it for you (if they're at all interested in customer service, that is. If they blow you off, you'll learn something about them right there). If it's a nightmare fix, just the fact that they're in business tells you they have insurance in place for just such eventualities. Let them take care of it for you. That's how the system should work for you, the customer (can you tell I spent years as a highly-successful retail advisor, dealing with customer satisfaction issues?).

Default Try this...

Using the all windows function on the drivers' side lower the windows, raise the windows, lower the windows, raise the windows. If it was due to disconnecting the battery, that should reset the unit.
