Default Headlight Aim

Hey all,

Does anyone have any true knowledge of aiming headlights?

I just replaced the bulb in my driver's side light and I can see the cutoff down road now. It isn't terrible, but I just seem to remember me being able to see that little bit further.

I know that the top screw is the height adjustment, but which way do I turn it to adjust them up?

And now much does it have to be turned in order to get results... I tried turning it like three times last night and didn't seem to notice any change in appearance of the beam.

One more thing, anyone have a good picture of their cutoff on a wall?

Should the drivers side be lower than the passenger side?

Thanks!

Answered my own question

The top screw IS indeed the vertical adjustment. Turn it counterclockwise to raise the beam, clockwise to lower the beam. Mine didn't seem to move with every turn of the screw. Ever 2nd rotation seemed to bring the beam inching up.

The levelers on my Saturn were SUPER touchy. The slightest turn would sent the beam soaring...

Hopefully I've adjusted them up just enough to get rid of the annoying cutoff right in front of me.

The beam cutoff of my new bulbs just isn't as crisp as the old ones...

Passenger side looks great, drivers side is dull... I'm starting to wonder if the bulb I got might be just a little out of spec manufacturing wise and is throwing off the focal point... who knows...
