Default Raggtopp overspray removal

Treated my top and have some overspray on my windows and is incredibly tough to remove (thoroughly). I'm leaning towards acetone or brake cleaner...anyone else had this problem?

If it is on the GLASS, use a fine steel wool. No, it wont scratch the glass, that way you don't have to worry about getting some chemical on unwanted areas.

I always unlatch the top but not open, slide in a large piece of plastic drop cloth (8'x10'), slide all the way back to rear window and drape over windshield, latch top and roll up windows with key then spray. I sometimes cover the rear window with newspaper or plastic. Also, cover the area at rear with plastic taped to the chrome trim to cover the trunk/fender area.

Raggtop protectant is a paraffin wax based product that is made specifically for the NB and other german fabric tops.
I would strongly recommend that you not use a caustic spray or steel wool of any kind on the glass.
You risk getting caustic overspray on painted surfaces and will surely risk scratching either the glass or painted areas near the glass with steel wool. It does'nt matter if its fine or not, steel wool will scratch and you might get tiny pieces to fall around and into the window glass runs or seals and that stuff will rust.
So, the easiest way to remove overspray if it has dried on the glass is to use a razor window scraper and carefully scrape the heaviest quantity off and then use a quality window cleaner to clean any remaining residue from the glass.
And, I do the same thing Duffy does when I spray my roof. Cover as much as you can and minimize the overspray cleanup.
Good Luck

I do alot of painting and overspray is a common byproduct, so I use superfine steel wool all the time to remove it from glass and I have yet to have a single scratch on the glass. Your choice but I'm just letting you know my experiences with it. If you don't think it will work, try it out on a piece of glass somewhere around your house and you won't believe how well it works to remove hard water. I always use a good protector afterwards like rain x. Again, just my experience, ignore it if you want.

Yes, the RaggTopp is the product to use. Check Amazon.com for best pricing for a kit of cleaner and protectant. Best sure it is for FABRIC tops.

Try pouring some isopropyl Alchohol into a clean cloth rag and use that to remove the over spray. Just don't pour the alchohol directly onto the glass and don't get any on the edges of the top surrounding the window.

Got it off (99%) with the steel wool, but this definitely explains why the rear window keeps getting it "back on" when you let the top down...maybe I'll melt some of the wife's partlite candles...thin it with an appropriate solvent and spray...which scent should I go with?

Just joking of course...

I use regular foam glass cleaner, comes off easy.
