Default Manual Top Issue

I just purchased this vert from a private party and it had only two issues. One was the inside liner of the top is coming apart from the window. Looking through past posts it looks like a common issue and the pins will do the job. Thanks guys!!!

The second is when I put the top down and click it in the sensor warning light in the car does not detect that the top has clicked in all the way so it beeps and beeps. I know that the top is clicked in all the way. It beeps everytime I accelrate which is so annoying.
Has anybody had this problem before?? Or does anybody know how to turn the annoying beeeping off for now?? I am going to take it to the dealer but just wondering if anybody has heard of this.

Other than this love love love love looooovveee my vert....

^ Don't waste your time on the clips...clear silicone bead in the plastic receiver ring ON THE WINDOW...snap it back in and leave her top up for 24HRs...done! As far as your top beep, find someone with VAG-COM and check the convienence module to pin point what's causing the ecu to not see the top's down.

^ Yes Home Depot/Lowes/Ace Hardware, etc. all sell clear silicone. Just get the squeeze tube (like toothpaste)...it's easier to use than the caulk tube. And make sure it's pure silicone (not the tub or tile kind).

Default Thank you Rugsux

Okay so I bought the silicone glue and did my back window yesterday and waited 24hours to see if it came apart again and guess what???? It worked thank you so much for the suggestion. My husband was so pround of me for fixing it myself and since my fingers are smaller it was better off that I fixed it anyway. As far a the manual top sensor issue I explained before well I guess it was the sensor just below the lock and it popped out so he pushed it back down with a screw driver and now that is perfect as well....Im so happy it all worked out and I owe most of it all to the org....thanx for all your help
