Default Masking car for 303 protectant application

Ordered the 303 protectant/cleaning kit from Amazon. Masked off the per instructions on another thread here to prevent overspray. Used a 10x20 drop cloth from Lowes (cost was about 4 bucks). Cleaned the top first per the instructions...let the top dry then sprayed on the protectant. Hardest part was the masking. Lifted the top up a little and put the drop cloth inbetween the top and windows....then rolled the windows up to seal the cloth under the roof. Masked off the back window and all around the chrome trim. I cleaned off the little bits of fluff and grass trimmings you see in the pics with tape (used like a lint brush) before applying the protectant. Pics below....

Do you use the top cleaner before you put the plastic on? Or do you cover the car with plastic before you clean and apply the protectant?

No need to mask the car off when using the cleaner....just the protectant. I would highly suggest putting on the protectant on in a garage or other area that you can keep the wind down. Someone suggested putting the protectant on with a paint brush but the bottle says you don't get as good coverage is if you just spray it on.

Thanks for the reply, Some say use raggtop and I noticed you used 303 any special reason?

Thanks
Rick

Rick I used 303 based on the endorsement of Jensbtl (met her at a GTG a few months ago). The 303 was cheaper and gets the same results at least according to the research I did. The kit had great reviews on Amazon as well. Here are some pics of the results. The raggtop protectant comes in an aerosol spray too which some had said was harder to control than the spray bottle from 303.

Thanks again, I appreciate the Pics and info. I will log onto Amazon and buy the 303.
