Default Roof Beeping

Hi guys,

Looking for a bit of help or advice,
My girlfriends bought a beetle 1.6 convertable (Motorised hood)
When she puts the keys in the ignition the screen next to the clock flashes and the car seems to think the roof is between positions, (neither up nor down) When it is infact fully up.

All i can think is theres a switch or a sensor thats fouled / faulty.

Has any body had any similar problems or give me any advice. Does any body know where the switches are located are they easy to get to, change, inspect. Wiring diagrams any thing im really scratching my head with this one.

Sorry for a long post.

Thanks guys.

Steve

Thumbs up

Yes, apparently somewhat of a common problem. VW has even designed a fix that is a centering bushing that goes on the right side pin that goes into the winshield surround on the passenger side. There is a switch that is located in the receiver hole in the header that may also need a cleaning.

Do a thread search, there are a couple threads on here.
