Default rear glass coming loose

I have a 2003 convertible and the rear window is coming loose. I have developed a clammping system to hold while glueing, but need to know a time tested glue to use.

open the top half way, use plain plastic wood working clamps you can get at harbor freight for about , apply glue to the glass where the top was glued, fold the top behind the inside of the glass and put the clamp over it, let it set for a couple minutes then do another section. USE RHINO GLUE, order it online, only place you can get it. the large bottle with special tips kit is 15.00 including shipping. did my top 6 months ago, and had a friend spray all around the glass full pressure with a hose and no leaks what so ever, its holding up beautifully! and youd never know it ever pulled free in the first place.

I remember last year this subject of the glass coming loose on vert and it was mentioned that VW has "clips" the will keep the glass tight and from coming loose. I didn't think about it until I saw that my glass was loose this spring when I went to put the top down. I'll do a search, but that might also be an option if available.

the clips hold the headliner to the ring on the inside of the glass. if the glass is coming loose from the outside TOP canvas, it has to be replaced for 1700.00 plus labor, or reglued for 15.00 worth of rhino glue and 2 hours of your time. your choice.

So yeah Im having this issue and its getting worse. I spoke with an upolstry guy who noticed it this weekend. He mentioned he could fix it . He uses winshield glue on conv mustang rear windows which have the same issue. He said he could do mine so Im gonna let him try it. I figure at this point a new top is in order and if it doesnt work anyway. If it does work I will have baught time til it fails again.
