Default Convertible stock rims?

Hello,

I am actually in Lebanon, and I've been looking around for a convertible manual transmission new beetle, it's a very hard search because I'm in a country where automatic transmission is much more popular. But finally, I have found one, but I still want it to be a clean undamaged vehicule, so my question is;
Does the Monte Carlo 16'' alloy rims are stock rims to the vert?
This is a 2004 GLS, US imported (driven in Connecticut). Its Carfax is extra clean, but since there is no history record since it was imported (11/2008), I'm afraid that the car have had a serious damage since then and that the rims had to be changed.
I've never seen those rims on verts, and it worried me.

So, have you ever seen a stock vert with monte carlo rims?

Thanks
Elie

and by the way, I definetly don't trust the seller; who told me that the car has been imported 3 monthes ago, which is definetly not the case on its carfax

These are what came on my 2004 GLS

Which may not mean anything, since I could have sworn I've seen those wheels as stock somewhere on a vert. Let me research a bit.

BTW I know how you feel about trying to find a manual transmission in GLS. I had to drive 2000 miles to get mine (in orange color)

Um yeah, I know these rims on the red vert, and they are stock rims in some verts, but rare.

Here are the rims that I believe exists on the NB1 vert

Daytona 17'

San Diego 16'

these (name unknowned, as in your pics but definetly stock rims) 16'

Also Route 66 (only on european NBs) 16'

Seattle 17' (so beautiful)

and Key West 16'

but I've never seen those Monte Carlo on a vert, never. Whether it's US, european or japanese

I must say, I have never seen those wheel on an NBC. They have been changed, I fear. The NBC needs 17" wheels, Seattles!

You're right, that doesn't look like a vert stock wheel at all. The ones I was thinking about where these.. that are clearly different.

Still ugly... but not as F-UGLY as the ones you posted.

My 2 cents... Find another car, if you're have a bad feeling about it already, follow your gut instincts.

That's my thought too... I'll be getting rid of mine in a couple of paychecks. Seattles are so frickin' awesome looking. Simple yet stylish, not overly spoked and not gleamingly polished.

My 2004 NBC wheels are the same as SD's. Mine's a 5-speed as well.

This one is working; this is the same one as the one for sale here except the different rims.. But it left the US with 39 000 miles and only 1 previous owner. I believe it also has around 70 000 miles right now

Anyway, I'll have to get infos on how much shipping + full cutoms fees will cost me in lebanon before I do any research; the one here is for sale for $13 500 (as far as I can afford right now), to get the same price on another one still overseas, I should have it for about maybe $8000 from the US which could be a hard catch and btw I'm into black, reflex sivler or dark grey, and if I get a great catch, I definetly prefer it in 1.8T

Thanks for the website tho

Hello
I've actually found two black NBC 1.8T but both in a tiptronic transmission. Right after I switched on the engine, I knew that a turbo powered one is what I need
Anyway, my question is; would it be bad to swap the transmission to a stick shift? Would I get the same results as a stock stick 1.8T? What about the big screen on the odometer?
Thanks
