What are you vert owners running for tires on your vehicles? I have the optional 17" rim on my triple white. Any suggestions are appreciated. I looked into replacing with the michelins that are on it now....but I'd be looking at around $900....and would like to spend a little less if possible....

I'd suggest giving Continental a look. I've been fairly happy with the ContiExtreme Contact DWS on my GTI.

I am also needing to put new shoes on our vert. We're 99% for sure going with these:

Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum

After a ton of research, I put the Kumho Ecsta Platinums on my vert. Paid just under $700 installed at Discount with the warranty. The tires are very quiet, which was my main concern. Only have less than 1K on the tires but I'm very pleased...

Do your shopping and comparisons on www.tirerack.com and then go to Discount, NTB (or whatever they are where you are), or others. They WILL match the price (including the freight of course).

$900 for Michelins? I betting your buying road hazard at that price. I buy Michelins for almost every vehicle I own, have bought dozens of sets, typically get 70k to 80k miles, and have NEVER changed a flat or had need for road hazard on these tires, waste of money. Not necessarily saying they are the best tire for you. Many things to consider when buying tires... ride, quietness, typical speeds driven, type of driving, all-weather or dry pavement tire, mileage life expectations, and price, are the ones I can think of. I have an '05 2.0 Vert and when I get ready to replace tires will have to do some research based on these same factors.

Thanks for the feedback you all....I think I'm going to go with the Kumho's recommended above...going to have to go past a couple of local places to see about local pricing vs ordering from tirerack and having installed locally. Thanks again all!

I find nothing wrong with them and they ride better than the directional sporty pro comp tire ones I had before I got them a few months ago.
