Default oil change

I had the oil changed in my 2007 nbc and when I got it back I looked under the car to be sure the skid plat was on and I didn't have any leaks.

I did not see any drips of oil however I did notice the drivers side of the moter had a ton of dirty oil scum on it. Is that the side the oil filter is on? What a mess

Would it be unreasonable of me to make a complaint to the service manager.

Thanks
Rick

Define a "ton". It is very common to have oil residue on the outside of the engine. Some cars are worse than others.

That isn't oil, it's metal preservative. All engines do it eventually.

So true. The massive oil leaks on our '84 Jetta is what kept the car from having rusty floor pans and a rusty engine bay. Works like a charm
