I have a fabric top and I am thinking the answer to this question is no, but has anyone here had experience with taking your car through the automatic car wash?

I had a 2004 vw beetle convertible and I went through the car wash on a regular basis (twice a month) for 4+ years and it was totally fine. I know it isn't recommended, but I did and it never left marks or scratches. It probably depends on the car wash and how the auto sprays work. I would check out the machines they use before you go through. Good luck.

If it's a "brushless", you probably won't get any marks or scratches, BUT the commercial detergents are very hard on the fibers and stitching. Also will strip of any protectant you have applied (or should be applying on a regular basis). Ditto your labor of love wax job! I have three Verts, all with cloth tops, and none of mine go to the car wash! Period! I have too large of investments. If I have any of them done, it is at hand wash places, and I supply the cleaning agents. [And supervise from the bench, cigarette and beer in hand! (lol)]
