Default ? about 2004 NBC

I am looking at a 2004 New Beetle Convertable that is for sale. On the front of the car right under both headlights, there are small round covers that looks just like the tow hook cover. I can't find out what those are. Does anyone out there know? Thanks

What are HID's? I've never heard of head light washers. Are they problematic, do they work, etc.? Are they part of the leather package? Thanks

You mean like these? Yes they are pop up headlight washers. Never had a problem with them. When i bought it at the dealer I asked the dealer what they were and he didn't know. He said they are tow hooks. (what an idiot)

Thanks for all the information. I've owned 2 New Beetles already, but sedans. This is a convertable that I'm looking at now. I have to sell my car first, but it sure sounds nice. If I ever get it bought, or another one, I'll be sure and let everyone on here know. You said that the headlight washers pop up. Does the little doors open up or something? I'm just having a hard time picturing that! Thanks again!!!

I've seen those in action. When they work, it's so cool!

The ones I saw, 'tho, the right side one jammed, and had to be pushed back down by hand.

Personally, I wouldn't trust the headlight washers, after seeing that.

It's no big deal, they'll get stuck once in a while if you don't use 'em very often, just gently push them back into the bumper...

WOW, those are pretty wild. I've never seen those before. Thanks for the pics and the info. Like I said before, I have to sell my car first, but then I'm getting either a sedan or a convertable. We'll see which strikes me when the time comes.

I didn't know there was a HID option on the NBC. Very cool.

So, if you have the HID option, which I believe was first offered in 2001, you have the pop-up washers too?

Dood, look up a few posts!

Nope, HID's were offered for '04's and '05's only...

'High intensity lighting' is not the same as HID's...
