Transmission Light - Packed My Manual - Help!

The other day Kiki's Tranmission Check light came on. I think that is what it was anyways - the icon all the way to the left on the panel. It only blinked three times and then went away. Hasn't been on since. I'm guessing I need to check my transmission fluid.

Went to do just that today - and can't find where to check it. Of course my owners manual was packed when I moved, and I have yet to find it. Can anyone give me advice as to where to look?

These are from my 2003 operating manual. Which one came on on your panel????

The malfunction indicator light. It had the word CHECK underneath it - with that symbol.

What does that mean???

It means that since your Beetle is under warranty to take it in to the dealer to check computer trouble codes. Something is amiss under the hood. It could mean a lot of things...a lot of which aren't that serious. The M-I-L is aka Check Engine Light.
