Exclamation Help ~ Black Leather Seats

Hello,

My 2001 NB has black leather seats, and for the first time yesterday, I folded my back seat down for whatever reason. I followed the instructions in the owner's manual, and everything seemed to be fine, but when I put the seat back up this morning, there are some scratches on the top of the seat by the headrests, and there is a perforation line on the backrest. I do not know why or how this happened...there was not anything for the seat to touch or create the perforation line. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions as to:

How to fix the perforation line and repair, as much as possible, the scratches?

How to avoid this going forward? Until I figure out the problem and solve it, I am not going to fold the back seat down.

Thanks in advance for any help offered!

Are they actually holes? Or just marks?

You can use leather cleaner/conditioner to get rid of MOST of the scratches. My dog jumped into my Zoomer bug - blue & black leather - and scratched the seats. So, I used leather cleaner/conditioner. It is like lotion for your seats. Unless they are REALLY REALLY bad ... this should take care of it.

Red face Back Seat

The perforation is about six-inches long, and is on the bottom of the back rest on the right-side of the seat; it is about three-inches on the leather, and three-inches on the leatherette. The cuts on the top of the back seat, by the headrests, are not too deep or bad. They are cuts none-the-less though, so I will make sure to clean and condition all of the leather this weekend! Of course, I am NEVER going to fold my back seat down again...my poor, poor, perfect leather seats...they are not so perfect anymore....

Thank you for your help!

I hear ya on the perfect leather seats getting ruined. My passanger seat is getting worn where people get in and out. And, I noticed that on my passanger seat on the back above where the pockets are ... there is a smalllll slice. It was there when I took delivery *I think* ... but, I cant prove it ... especially THIS late in the game.

I wonder what sliced yours?! 0_o ... weird.
