Default Cleaning Windshield

Any one have any tricks for cleaning the inside of the windshield. Being a short person it is hard to reach all of the inside of the windshield. Is it better to do it with the top down?
Thanks Bandit

Cool

I don't profess to be much of a contortionist, so my approach is to apply the cleaning agent (I use 1 part white vinegar to 4 parts water) to the applicator, position myself to face the back seat, then arch backwards to apply pressure against the inside bottom of the windshield.

By the way, to clean those stubborn water spots and other apparent substances from the outside windows, I use "A-MAZ" water stain remover followed with an application of "Rain-X". From inside, it looks like you don't even have windows...

I use glass cleaner and a microfiber polishing cloth to clean my windows. In the winter time, I also use Rainex on the outside of the windshield. Having the top down does help somewhat when cleaning the windows ... except for the back window of course.

Also, I ran across this tool in the Griot's Garage catalog which might interest you ...

Good luck.

I use this http://www.meguiars.com/?glass-care/...-Glass-Cleaner
With the Duo-Fiber Glass Super Towel.
I clean with the top down. Since winter's around the corner it might not be as easy.

I find it easier to clean the inside with the top down, when possible. In the winter, i put the bug in the garage, and lower the top to clean it. I use Invisible Glass, about $4 at wally world and a microfiber cloth, on both the inside and outside. All outside glass, including the mirrors, gets Rain-Xed a couple times a year.
In addition, I buy cheap windshield washer fluid from wally world, and add the Rain-X washer concentrate to it. I have been doing this with all my cars for several years.
When it rains, the water will fly off the glass without the wipers on.

The absolute BEST thing for a streak free shine is any type of window cleaner and newspaper. No kidding! I was a janitor my first year of college, and thats the best thing I learned.

I picked up this from QVC---- it has a handle so the reach prob is solved and you just spritz a little water and clean and sparkly.

I use it for all the windows and mirrors in my house too.

I agree Newspaper is the best... you just throw it out when it gets too damp and get a new piece. Always streek free, better than anything I ever bought.

Okay, i skimmed this so if the answer is in front of my face, sorry i missed it lol. I have to roll my windows down when i leave my bf's house at night because the inside is all smudgy. i used just glass cleaner like windex. michael (brtoehr) said its cause the temperature change makes it fog up and then im freezing because all the defrost heat i have to put on window so i can see. what do i use to clean my front windshield so i dont go crazy and freeze to death? especialyl with winter? my front windshiled has the tint strip too, idk how to clean it. windex didnt' hurt it but i dont want ti to get loose or ocme off eeither. thanks!

A little unorthodox but the final results are fantastic.

Clayber windows inside and out (I use mothers with their QD spray). Just wipe off residue with microfiber towell for glass.

If you want to go all out, follow this with Klasse All-In-One on the exterior windows. Amazing results. Glass looks better than new and feels as smooth as freshly claybared paint.

Picked this up from a thread on miata.net. Awesome.

Newspaper users:

Do you spritz your cleaner (water/windex/whatever) onto the newspaper before you wipe? Or do you spray on the windshield.

This weekend was the first cleaning the inside windows and I did such a balls job I had to bring my car to the detailer downstairs and just ask if they could clean my windows only. They're doing it for free, so that's nice.

Window tint safe & 100% streak free wash solution at www.fastautocare.com Just follow the links at the index on the top of the home page. I believe it is under "cleaners and degreasers"

Hope that helps,
