What's a clay bar?
I just came back from a Florida road trip and found the entire front end of my car was coverd with suicidal "love bugs." Just as difficult to remove as pine sap, I'm guessing. My husband had a "bug and tar remover," that was about 70% successful. The rest was soapy water and a fingernail, trying not to make icky faces. I'm interested in what everyone comes up with here.

I have trouble with tree sap also. I use denatured alcohol and a nail polis remover pad and patience to remove pine pitch. You will need to use a spray touch-up wax on the painted survaces, and remember to rinse the glass surfaces when you are done.
I have found waiting for a warm day, helps also, but in Florida, that should not be too much of a problem. |

nail polish remover will eventually take your clear coat off. try using a clay bar to remove tar and tree sap. its also good for removing any overspray and things like that. you can also use it on your windows. i work at a detail shop and we use them before we buff cars and before we apply rain-x
