Default dash kit removal

i hope this is the right section to post this....
so, the new used beetle i just bought had a lame dash kit installed and i want to remove it. it seems to be on there pretty well since i couldnt peel up any of the pieces with my fingers. so my question is, without damaging the stock plastic/rubber coating, is there an easy way to remove these pieces? i thought maybe a heat gun might work. if it leaves some residue, i could live with another dash kit that is higher quality installed over the residue but this one is kind of bronzeish in a black/gray interior so it looks like crap.

again, my concern is not damaging the stock surfaces since i would rather have that, but if not i at least need to remove old kit to install newer better one. thanks for the input ahead of time.

a hair dryer would work great

some goo gone afterwards will take out any of the remaning residue.

thanks for the heads up. i used a blow dryer and i removed about 3 pounds of crappy vinyl dash kit pieces. there is a tiny bit of residue on the vents still but i know it will come off with a little cleaner or goo gone. i only scraped up one piece in all the removal and that was the driver door handle trim piece. not too bad overall and now my car looks awesome!!!
