Question Can you wax the colored part of the doorcard? (aka billsbug why are yours so shiny?)

So billsbug or anybody else...the tops of my doors which are red to match Smaug of course, are dull. I want them to be shiny like billsbug. What do I need to use or do? They dont seem to be painted? Are they? Plastic?

What's the best thing to do?

Yes you can and should. They're painted ABS plastic; exactly the same stuff as your fender. So treat it the same; claybar it since it's been a while, then use a polish, a glaze, a sealant, and a wax.

Or y'know.... whatever you do to your fenders.

however please note that in '98 the colored door card peices were a flat paint color. they changed that in '99 to a glossy finish.

So Billy Boy, even though your car is black (right? )... your door trip is glossy?
Is that a custom thing or stock?

Mine, being a '98, is flat and craptastic.

I think Im going to have to just repaint mine all over agian. No claybar/wax/buff job (heehee) can fix them. Whom ever had my car before let their dog, which clearly has long nails, claw up the door cards.

I'm probably going to paint mine..or just buy new panels.

I already took off all that "soft touch" crap off. Thank goodness...
