I've read some very good reviews about this product. Has anyone tried it?

I would like to try it. We have a big love bug problem around here. I use cheap fabric softener sheats to clean them off (works like a charm), but it would be great if I had something to keep them from sticking in the first place.

A while back I read a thread here on NB.org about a product called RejeX. No one had used it yet, but several expressed interest in it. Its main boast is its purported ability to repel bugs from your car (or truck, boat, airplane, etc.). It also is a wax substitute/replacement, in that it produces a wax-like shine on your car.
(See http://rejex.com/rejex.html for the company info.) So, I went down to our local True Value store and picked up a 16 oz. bottle. The cost is a hefty $19.99, enough for (according to their web site): • A typical single-engine airplane tip to tail • A 35’ boat or RV • 3 regular SUVs or large sedans • 4 economy or sports cars So far I've put on two coats and the bottle seems nearly full. A little goes a long way, since it leaves a very thin film – less than a micron thick. I picked up a few bugs today, but they wiped right off with a damp cloth. It's too early for the onslaught of bugs here in South Carolina yet, so I can't speak from experience yet as to the effectiveness of that aspect of the product. Supposedly all bugs, brake dust, etc. can be hosed off with sufficient water pressure. However, from a cosmetic viewpoint, it leaves a nice shine (see photos below). My car is reflex silver, which doesn't have nearly the luster of say, red or blue, but it looks pretty good. I've put two coats on. Looks pretty good. How long since you've "waxed" it?
How does the application go.. easy on easy off? Or not?

I just finished this second coat today...it is supposed to last 4 to six months. I used a little Dawn to try and remove the wax that was already on the car, because the RejeX bonds better with the paint than it does with wax. If you have wax under it, when the wax degrades, so does the RejeX...
It goes on fairly easy...leave it on for about 20 minutes and just wipe it off. No flaking either. Last edited by miffmole; 04-11-2008 at 02:32 AM.. |

i just used a bra. i kept a good amount of was under it, but taking hte bra off and wiping it with a cleaning wipe compared to scrubbing bugs off the paint is well worth it.

So had anyone else tried/tested this product out since this thread was started? If there are any new feedbacks I'd love it...

I've got a paint protection film (from foliatec) on my front bumper. This prevents little stones from making scratches and holes in your paint when you run up and down a highway at higher speeds... Though - I gotta replace it some time.
This poduct was also tested by the Carlsonic R34 during the 24h of Le Mans 2 or 3 years ago - the bumper looked like new (pretty impressive if you look at the speeds they run - 120mph in average!)...

But what about wet weather? And how to clean the lebra?
33$? Only for the hood or also for the front bumper? Cuz that would be worth a deal even from germany ![]() Edit: Aw - I just had a look at the german ebay.de - a bra covering the front bumper and the lower part of the hood costs (at instant buy) between 120 and 140€ (that's something between 200 and 250$) ![]() Last edited by Picknicker; 05-01-2008 at 11:31 AM.. |

I have both pieces, hood and bumper. It was a case of right place, right time on ebay.com.
Herbie has had it on a couple time in the rain, I took it off as soon as I got home and let it dry. I just came back from North Carolina (~800 miles), I cleaned the bra with Meguair's Leather cleaner, let it dry, then took it off, so that I could wash & wax Herbie. |

I'm needing something to protect the front but I HATE bras, they look stupid to me... Can you give me some more details on this Foliatec products? Application? Where to purchase? How time consuming and what do you need for the application? Etc? Anything is helpful.. Thanks |

That's the film I've got on my bumper. Atm it looks pretty rotton (loads of pollen kinda "burned themselfs into the film" - yellow spots everywhere - and they just won't go off. Well - at least I havn't got any scratches ![]() Application is pretty easy. Either you DIY or you let a Foliatec dealer do it. It's basicly just a huge clear decal you put onto your bumper. Time consuming - uff - depends on whether you try to do it wet or dry - and also if you can or can't live with air bubbles under the film. In Germany we've got loads of dealers (a big company which does the whole windshield exchanging in case of damage - is an official foliatec dealer here) - I don't know any US dealers. But maybe you'll find some at www.foliatecusa.com ![]() Hope this helps ![]() Oh - I've also got a film on each side skirt. That's also helpful if you happen to have passengers with high heels - no scratches here too ![]() |

Oh - I see - the english version of the US site is incomplete. It's recommendable not doing it alone. I can try giving you any information you need - just ask
![]() The roundness isn't a problem that big - just warm up the film while applying - this way you can get it around very round shapes (like the mirrors). I will get the film on my front bumper reapplyed soon (well before the Recaro Tuning Days in early august) and renew the ones on my sideskirts as well as the CF look in the rear while changing the fog street legal again (which is applied the same way as the clear film). |
