Default Odor Removal

For those of us who have had the bad smell coming from the Air Conditioner system, and have tried everything to get rid of it, I found something that works great. It’s called FJC Air Conditioning Evaporator Odor Control, 6 OZ. AEROSOL (5909). Do a search for FJC 5909 and you'll find it, its less than $10 a can. It works easy and fast just follow the instructions and within minutes the smell is one.

However, also make sure the evaporator flap is not stuck or the smell will return as the water remains trapped.

Did you add it after you changed your AC/Pollen filter? I have the musty smell in my car right now but I haven't cleaned out or changed my filter yet. Thought I would do it this weekend and see if I still get the smell.

Search for the evaporator flap and you will find a “How too” on this forum that explains how to check it, but its located on the silver firewall, just about center of (behind) the motor, it looks like a tear drop and needs to be carefully lifted where you will see a rubble flap. I pulled the complete flap carefully out and cleaned it.

I had changed the filter earlier, and other things trying to kill the smell, but nothing worked until I used this material.

If your trunk leaks you'll get a pretty rank smell through your a/c too.
