Default How do you care for your bra? :)

So, I'm starting a new job in July. It's fulltime and a 35-minute haul down a very busy road that has lots of little stones and branches. Soooo, I caved and decided to get Stitch a Perfect Fit Crawler. I think it looks really sporty, and I can't wait to install it!

I was just wondering if there's any good bra care tips for both the bra and the wearer of the bra (make your own jokes, kids)?

How often should should the car go "nude" to insure even paint fading? Should the bra come off in the winter (we live in MD and sometimes have lots of salt on the road)? Also, what is a good soap/cleanser to clean a bra with?

Stitch is dark blue and we don't have a garage (he's in the shade part of the day in the driveway). I was thinking of maybe taking the bra off on the weekends and doing a car wash once or twice a month to make sure debris gets cleaned off good.

personally i close the clasps and throw it in the washer so not to ruin my hose lol sorry i had to

but for real...
2 people i know have used the bras...
Sarah left hers on all the time. She ran it through weather and washes never taking it off. She recently had hers repainted
Lyle left his on only when he needed to. Took it off for cleaning. He used leather cleaner on his bra before removing it from the car allowing it time to be dry before taking it off and neatly storing it to the side (he stored his in a tote in the trunk of his car so knew nothing would damage it). then hed wash wax etc his car as usual making sure where bra would cover was completely dry before putting bra back on.

from the 2 of them i have learned this...
If you will be using a bra...it does help to prevent damage to front nose as long as you take it off routinely...otherwise it does more harm then good...
sarah said if you care for the bra right it wont shrink like her first one did too.

i cant use one unless i get a custom silver one i can stripe like my car so not to ruin the effect lol

most bras are vinyl, so don't use leather cleaner/conditioner.

wash it, take it off to let it dry.

If it rains, take it off. and let it dry (don't let it dry on the paint, that does bad things to the paint because it never REALLY dries)

I used to use mine extensively; I'll start again shortly.

Wash with mild soap & water, let dry.

Also feel free to check the manufacturer for their specific maintenance instructions.

I took my bra off every time i washed my car. I also washed my car every weekend. So yeah, it came on and off alot. But I ran with the bra on all year long, and i live in new england, so it saw some winters.

I have a few basic rules, which if used will keep our paint in good shape and the bra looking good.

1. Keep a good coat of wax on the paint under the bra. This is the best definse you can do, and it's really fast if all you do is the front end every other week. (depending on how many times you wash hte car and take the bra off). Basically, when you take the bra off and water beads up in a line where the end of the bra meets the hood, it's time to wax it again.

2. Keep the underside free of dirt and other particles. This usually means just a quick shake or patting, or if need be, a vacuuming. If your washing your car, chances are your going to vacuum the interior, so hte vacuum should be out anyway. Sometimes leaves and small twigs and bugs (dont ask me how bugs get under the bra, but they do, and theyre whole and un-splatted too) and stuff can get stuck ot hte backside of the bra, and it should be inspected visually and cleaned every time it's put on.

3. Use a good cleaner on the vynyl part of the bra. I used Armor All Orange cleaning wipes and they work phenominally. They get all the inbedded dirt and spatted bug guts off easily, and the orange oil in them helped keep the vynyl black.

4. Deep wash the bra once or twice a year. Throw it in the washing machine alone on a hot cycle and let it dry before putting it back on. You won't beleive the dirt that comes out of it. You'll probably want to wipe the tub of the washing machine before using it afterwards. But then again, i did keep the bra on all ear round.

That's all I have to say.

Thank you, all, for the awesome advice!

I just bought some eyelids to go with the bra... Now Stitch will look like an evil masked bandit.
