Default Cupholder stains

Someone left a paper Coke cup in one of my cupholders. It started seeping and the red ink from the cup has stained the inside of my holder. I was thinking of trying a little bleach water, but I would hate to drip it somewhere and ruin something else. Any ideas?

Try baby wipes.

Mine had a brownish stain in the right cupholder when I bought it 4+ years ago ... I have tried everything but paint to remove the stain.

Don't the cupholders twist-out in the '07?
Mine do, and I always take them out for thourough cleaning.
Also, before trying bleach I would try a weak acid like vinegar or lemon juice. Start with diluted. The reason is how that stain became. It was coke that dissolved the ink. Coke is acidic, pH=2. Same with vinegar/lemon juice. Hope that helps!

Weird things will stain, you'd be surprised. At my father's house, someone left a grocery receipt face-down on the counter and it transferred and nothing will take it off.

If it twists out you might want to look at replacing it eventually, if it bothers you and nothing cleans it out. Is the stained part plastic or rubber?

Dude...try some hairspray on that register ink, then wipe with a paper towel...

Well, the cupholders in the '07 do not twist out, they are permenent holes in the middle console. Personally, I think it is a crapy design. They sould at least have some sort of removable liner.

I am going to try some lemon juice, and see if that helps. If that does not work, I have some Oxyclean that I might try. Bleach is the absolute last resort, not only am I afraid of spilling it, I don't want my pretty little buggy smelling like a freshly cleaned toilette.

Maybe WD-40 will work.

Acetone is what you use to remove permanent marker. I'm betting it will also remove your ink.

Art stores sell acetone markers for a few bucks. Might be cheaper than buying a bottle of it.

They're just clear and you can use them to transfer inks, might work.
