Default cleaning headliners...

Apparently the woman who my 02 Snap NB before me was a Tammy Faye Bakker wanna-be... There's makeup all over the headliner above the visors...

What's the best way to get this clean?? I'm all about makeup, but I'd rather have it on my face than on my car...

You can get some All Purpose Cleaner (it's a meguiars professional line product, but I think any generic one might work)spray it on a terry cloth towel and rub the towel into the headliner, and have a bottle of water with another terry cloth towel to follow. your goal is to clean it, not get it soaked. give it a try in a small area first.

it worked on every other vw mk4 headliner i've done. good luck

I use two white rags and warm soapy water. I take one rag and lightly scrub the dirty area after dipping it in the warm soapy water. Then I soak up the newly wet area with the dry rag. It has worked very well for me. Even on grease stains! Happy cleaning

That's really interesting, I'll try that.

I must add, these guys who are cleaning their headliners with baby wipes, etc are insane.

Don't clean it for the sake of cleaning it, mine is 6 years old, has never seen a cleaning rag and looks brand new save a few spots around the doors.

These headliner cleaner folks will have their headliners falling down in years to come, it happened to a friend who bought his grandfather's MK2 Jetta.

Headliner was drooping and the guy who replaced it for him said that he could tell it had been cleaned frequently.

True story..
