Default my first great cleaning of 2008

My car was very dirty these last days, also this morning the weather was shiny and it's time to set up my tools to clean my jewel :

Before:

And now, it's better for my mind and my eyes :

Five days and 350 miles later :

Last week, I've washed and waxed my car to keep a good protection with the winter conditions on the road. But after 350 miles, my car was dirty a new time.
Also this day, it was time to wash and apply NXT Spray to have a very good shiny on the car:

The good tools:

A good brush for wheels:

How was my car before to clean it :

First step: washing the car using a smooth sponge and NXT Car Wash:

Second step : NXT Spray Wax application :

I proceed panel by panel spraying on the pad, it's easier than directly on the car body

Here you see the same result, 6 months ago :

Of course we all wash and wax our bugs, but never have I seen a detailed thread like this one- Outstanding.

Weather is lovely in southern France, on the French Riviera for example but I live northern east of France at Belgium and Luxembourg borderlines and winter is a little bit cold over there, but sometimes we have sun above our head !
You have to enjoy these rare times !

I noticed you use the NXT car wash. Never used that, but Meguiars has this new NXT spray tech wax that is awesome!

In fact, I have NXT Car Wash
NXT Tech Wax
NXT Spay wax to ehance the shining
NXT Speed detailer to use everyday to remove dust

This range of products is very confortable to use, smell good and very easy to apply and remove.
The only problem is that is France Meguiar's is very expansive :
approximatly $ 40,00 for NXT Tech Wax !!!
But it doesn't matter cause I just need a bottle or two for a year and afford me a good protection and deep shining

WOW
I thought Meguaris was more of an international-friendly product price wise. At any rate, you're so right; when it comes to our bugs, it's a worthwhile investment.

Keep her clean

Awesome

I'm kinda surprised that the other orgers aren't chiming in on this thread. A good washing/waxing and the products thereof are good discussion.

I was a big user of the Zymol products, but I can't find the detail spray anymore, so I switched from Zymol to Meguiars, and i'm well pleased.

Now that your buggie is looking all pretty, you need to take him/her out and take a boat load of pics.

Zymol is unknown in France and Meguiar's is used exclusivly by car lovers like me.
But if you want to have the best wax of the world, chek on this link :
http://www.swissvax.com/E/US/Home.htm

Divine personal wax 2 x ca. 200 ml $ 02,500.

Swisswax divine is the most expensive too !
For exclusive cars only and for billionaire !
Unbelievable !
I'll try to make a new shooting this week and post my pictures on Photo section in org.

I was so thinking the same thoughts

To the OP, it looks like having those items on the floor didn't hurt you this time. Your car looks great!

By the way, you may be excited to know that NXT 2.0 just came out. I picked up a bottle last week, and finished detailing my fiancee's Bug. I've never tried the original NXT, but all the reviews mention it is so much easier to apply, and lasts longer. I can certainly attest to the looks and ease of application. It's a great product and the hydrophobic properties makes the car bead like crazy.

I've been working on the car after work for a week, so haven't had the chance to take pictures due to the poor lighting. =(

The process I used on her car was:

Wash -> Clay -> Menzerna FPII -> Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze -> NXT 2.0 (2 coats, 24 hrs apart)

I will put a topper in about a week to ensure the sealant fully cures. Since I'm doing Meguiar's, it will be the #26 Yellow Carnauba Wax.

To the OP: Car looks really clean and nice. Next time though, try waxing with an up/down or diagonal motion instead of overlapping circles. Heard it's better for the paint and keeps swirls to a minimum

Thanks for your messages and support !
I appreciate your advices, especially for the towels and pads on the street, the risk to catch grain sand is very important , that's true !
I'll never do that again ! I promise !

I tried the brand new Ultimate Quick Detailer, and then you need less than 10 minutes to obtain a lovely and deep shiny car :
Very usefull between 2 car washes
Unbelievable !

And I have to wait until September before to try NXT Tech Wax 2.0 , not yet available inFrance for this moment !

Today, it's the first anniversary of my Herbie and of course for this event it is necessary to offer a great care as usual in fact !!!

Also, this week I washed my car with NXT Car Wash.
I applied one layer of NXT Tech Wax.
The day after, one layer of NXT Spray Wax and a second one the day after.
Today, 4 days after, another hand car wash and the third layer of NXT Spray Wax
Let see some pictures :

what's happened in northern east France in April ?

A real nightmare !
Early in the morning on April the 7th, I came back from Luxembourg airport ( it's where I work), I had to ride under an unbelievable snow storm.
At home, after 25 miles on this road let see the result

Using my very good care products and my hands as well, 60 minutes after my car was in better mood and my mind too!
