Default Tree Sap

I park my NB in my driveway, which means my pine trees may weep a bit on her. Big globs of the sticky stuff. At least it smells nice. Anyway, I learned that if I take an ice cube and apply it to the globs of sap, they freeze in about 30 seconds. Then they can be easily removed from the car with a fingernail. Any remaining sap can be removed with a regular tree sap removing agent.
And, a bit of denatured alcohol will remove sap from the windows better than anything else I have tried. Just remember to wash off the window as soon as you are done.

Thanks for the tip. I have a pine tree out front I hate to park under just for that reason. Does it matter how long it's been on the car?

The sooner you can get it off the better for the car, but other than that I don't know.

I'm anxious to see if this works for pine sap! Check out my front yard...

Default Tree Sap Removal

I am forgetting the name of the stuff right now, will have to look once I get home. We got this stuff I think its made by turtle wax maybe, its in a spray bottle, but it removes all of our sap no problem. You spray it on, let it soak for a bit, rinse it off and wash with your regular soap. Works pretty good.

I hear Pine-sol works too but again you need to wash after.

I have this stuff. It works OK, but not at all on big globs of sap that are semi-liquid because of the heat. Use ice to freeze the big globs, pick them off, and then use the bug and tar remover to get rid of the rest.
If you don't get the big globs off first, you just smear the sap around when you use the bug and tar remover, and then you have a bigger mess to clean up.
