Default Cleaning question.

I would have searched for the answer to this question but i dont even know what words i would have used to search.

Ok so what i and hopeing you guys & gals can answer for me is how you get the the cowling under the wipers off so that you can get in there and clean out all the leafs and junk that is just sitting in there most likely causing rust to form and i really want to get in there and clean it out so i dont have to worry about that.

thanks
Mike

1: Pop the round caps off the wiper arms.
2: Go lift weights for a few weeks.
3: Pull the wiper arms off.
4: Pull cowl up and off.
5: Shopvac?
6: Repeat steps 4, 3 and 1.

I was actually able to pull the wipers off without bodybuilding preparation, but it wasn't easy.
Now I bought a wiper remover tool for $7 at Princess Auto - it will make it easy.
Any rust will form on the wiper linkage. That's pretty much the only metal in the vicinity, except for the wiper arms and posts. If you protect the linkage with lubrication, it will prevent wipers from seizing (this happened to me last winter.)
For cleaning purposes, you can just as well access the area from the inside. If you take apart the dash as if you were changing your cabin filter, you will access the cavity in wchich the fallen leaves and crap get caught. Depends which side is easier for you to take apart.

i used a similar method but used an air hose to blow out everything... then while the air hose was out i used it to get the buds out of the jams where the windows go down, where the trunk opens, etc...
