Default Cleaning Black Plastic Pilars?

Hi there,
What do you guys use to clean the black exterior side pillars? Mine have fine scratches that I'd like to try and polish out. I tried a little ScratchX, but it didn't work like it does on the exterior paint.

they look like painted metal to me

I claybar and wax those areas just like the rest of the car.

They are metal (at least on my 99)- they secure to the window frame with screws under the seal. Treat them like any other metal.

I guess the pillars are painted metal. I thought they were plastic. I'll treat them like you suggest. I'm not a big fan of the scratchx though. I'll try that nu finish stuff. Thanks.
