Default ultimate air freshener (rid crayon smell)

i'm one of those "lucky" ppl with the crayon smell in their beetle. it's not that i don't like the way it smells but it just permeates into everything! even my newborn daughter comes smelling like crayons after a short ride. it's robbing me of that "new baby smell". so i went to pep boys (auto supply store) and came across "clean air's genie fogging air freshener." basically its just like a bug fogger where you place it in the car with the windows rolled up and set it off. you're supposed to set it off and leave it alone for 5 minutes, then roll the windows down and allow the car to ventilate for 5 minutes. i left it in there for about 20 minutes and i let it ventilate for about 10. i definitely noticed the scent from the product but didn't pick up any crayons though this product was really strong, i hope it's strong enough to diminish the strength of the crayons. i will reply again soon to let you know how it works and if i'll need a second fogging. but so far so good oh and i'm also gonna get the "clean air duct treatment for air/heat systems" so i can attack those pesky smells from every direction. it's supposed to work really well and is specifically designed to treat the molds and odors that are associated with the a/c.

It's mainly the insulation used on the firewall and floorpans.

And for the record, the ultimate air-freshener is Cinna-Berry.

It's not bad. I was just confused and thought there was something weird with MY car. Didn't know it was a bug thing.

I just leave my windows down and let it rain in there. The mildew smell overpowers the crayon smell.

I don't mean to leave my windows down and miss the crayon smell.

thats what that smell is...i just couldn't figure it out....yup its crayons...i remember the "scent" of my old 67 bug...miss the scent of the classic bugs...been looking for a classic bug for some time now, i don't remember them being so expensive. i bought my 67 for $700 back in the day...now people are asking 6 to 7 thousand!! sucks here on the west coast..

I'm cracking up. My NB smells like crayons and I was afraid to mention it to anyone because I was afraid they'd think I was nuts. Thanks (perhaps) for confirming my sanity.

Mine too! My husband was like "Why do all beetles have that smell?" I couldn't quite place the smell until now. But it definitely smells like a crayon.

Just get a NB Convertible. Put the top down, drive at 30-60 mph once a week. Car stays fresh. LOL...

Sorry, mine has that vent/musty ac smell when I use just the vents.
