Dunno on that one. Mostly everyone I know, myself included, opts to remove the stuff and repaint.

Another good solution is to either Repaint or use a Bug Dash Cover to protect your dash or cover up scratches. Its more cost effective than dash replacement and more less labor extensive than paint.

Dude, I realize you're trying to sell stuff, but don't hock it on every thread...

To the OP: Which pieces do you need to have redone? You may be able to just get new ones to replace them.

I understand that you might be a little miffed over Argentessa's post, but to his defense...

1.He is a New Beetle owner
2.the product that he supplies is very well done
3.many orgers get into newbie or lazy mode and don't throughly search the forums. Many orgers don't frequent here as you and I do, so this might be a help.
5.His product might turn on a light bulb on for someone and just might opt to go this route.
6. supporting a fellow nB driver and org member isn't a bad thing.

Not razzing you FarrisK. Just saying is all.... it's all good mang And no, He's not paying me to say what i've said. Just supporting a fellow nB owner is all

Anyhoo, I did go through the searches and found some threads pertaining to removing rubbery stuff, painting, and interiors; here's a few threads that might be of help to you. Good luck

Duplicolor flat black is a close match.

I tried 3 kinds of flat black, the duplicolor came the closest but it's not a perfect match either.

I was painting a gaugepod so I didn't have to. You can buy rattlecans of paint stripper though, I'd recommend that because if you take sandpaper to it, trying to get the surface smooth again will make you hate your life.

Rattlecan stripper huh? Never thought of that.... good idea. I'm hoping to find a wrecked nB and get the top door trim pieces. This info will be useful, and hopefully easier than my first time stripping and painting. Thanks mang.

Want some door panel tops? They're silver and I'll mail them out if you pay shipping. They need repainting so they might be perfect for you.

Bro, that would be awesome. My zip is 32217. PM me the cost and i'll arrange payment with you.

I've taken Cup back to stock color trim- kinda sorta. She's black with some sparkle...DupliColor BlackFX. Just me, but i think it could go for OEM plus, but that's just me. I'd like to have another set of trim to do for custom and leave the current trim black. Thanks again mang.

I just removed rubber stuff with an old credit card. It scratches off so easily anyway... so just keep scratching it!

'Course, some other method might be faster...

This is true. lol. I tried sandpaper at first. It wasn't happening. I managed to dig up a little paint scraper and it worked wonders!

BOTH my door handles are now peeling. First it was just the driver's side, now the passenger's side is too. Yay.

Best way to remove the rubberized crap without damage:
1) remove the part
2) spray with easy-off oven cleaner & let sit about 5 min
3) use a nylon scrub brush (like ones to clean wheels) and scrub away. Use a PLASTIC scraper only if you have to.
4) rinse with water

Best paint I've found:
Primer: Dupli-color Professional Filler/Primer
Paint: SEM Trim Black - Flat Black (spray can)
** I got this from a local paint shop. They say that all the body shops use it

I just finished refinishing the upper dash, the door panels (I painted the black years ago), the trim around the door handles... The parts look like new.

I am now motivated to pull the rest out and refinish the same.

I'll post pics when I'm done, but It will be a while. I'm also re-spraying all the factory yellow trim (OEM yellow) since there are bubbles and chips in it.

If you go to this thread: Cleaning rubber junk off door panels

There were about 6 different cleaning products/methods suggested. I'm happy with how my dash came out.
